Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever had an out-of-body experience or felt an otherworldly presence you couldn't deny?

Whoopi Goldberg Is Keeping Mum

Yes, yes, yes! But they don’t like me to talk about it. I do one movie and now I can’t get rid of them.

Liz Smith's Belief System

Of course not. Nor do I believe in vampires, witches, imps, devils or angels. And no, I have not felt otherworldly presences nor do I want to. Out of body? Don’t I wish! I would love to be invisible at times also. But, no chance.

One time I saw someone from the spirit world was when I went back to the house I was raised in and my aunt died in. I was alone cleaning and looked up at the kitchen table and there was my aunt. She smiled and I heard in my mind (although she didn’t speak) , take care of my son. Her son is mentally deficient and middle aged (and I live across the country) so this was a major problem. All turned out well when an old friend from high school, who happened to be a policeman ended up watching out for him. Never saw my aunt again and never had another vision.

I have seen something I cannot explain…and I wasn’t alone when it happened…my old college roommate was talking about a friend of hers who had comitted suicide…I had a small sculpture which I had done resting on a filing cabinet…after my roomie finished a comment about her friend, my sculpture rose off the filing cabinet, went to the center of our dormroom, and stayed in the air for what seemed like an eternity, then it fell to the ground. My roomie said (after screaming) “Did you see that?” My response “Yes I saw it…You saw it?” Her response “Yeah I said I saw it!” My response “Quit talking about (her friend)!” This occurred in the mid morning, between my first two classes, I was stone-cold sober (as was my roommate), and it was NOT my imagination! In the years since I have had a few other unexplainable incidents, and—as a healthcare professional—I have seen many people die. I always told student nurses that, If you have a patient who startys talking to : 1)Angels 2) dead relatives and/or 3)religious figures, pull the code cart to the room (unless the patient is a ‘do not resuscitate’) becuase the patient will INVARIABLY code within the next shift or two…every nurse I know who has worked for any significant amount of time has seen this happen also. Like Shakespeare said “There is more in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in (our) philosophies”…I have also had a ‘near-death experience of my own, and I heard my dead grandmother say to me “You can’t go yet..you have your children to take care of.” For anyone who thinks that people who have had supernatural or paranormal experiences are ‘imagining’ them, or that they are ‘crazy’, all I can say is that I’ve had a scientific education, and I am, by nature, somewhat skeptical—I don’t take everything at face value. I honestly had the aforementioned experiences, and while you are entitled to your opinion, don’t write off the possibility that you too may well be one day forced to believe when you witness the unexplainable.

i thought i posted this, haven’t seen it—-i once was ‘revived’ by a female police officer, after apparently being strangled—-before finding myself ‘wake-up’ i heard a nurse at Scripps San Diego clearly say, ‘He’s Back!’—-but before that, i was stunned to find myself, as pure ‘zooming’ vision, and a speck of bright light ahead of me—-as the speck increased in size i had enough ‘light’ to look around—-i was hurtling in that infamous black tunnel—-the thing was huge, pure velvet-black—-the closer i came to the ‘light’, it grew in size, as a ship’s port-hole—-then bamm! i wake to a nasty nurse yanking a pencil-sized pink tube out of ‘mr. happy’—-after 10 days i was ‘cleared for exit’, went straight to Lindberg and flew my butt back to this swamp—-why? 2600 miles from death and @ that time St. Pete, downtown, had studios for $295/month—-now St. Pete has had a total renovation—-i pay more, but hey! 2 blocks from the Gulf? surrounded by multi-mil condos—-biz towers—-now, if they would only tow a giant iceberg for the insufferable hot summers—-ok place to be—-will i forget that tunnel? never happen—-

I guess my comment didn’t go thru the other day about this; Ghosts in the Machine????? ^_^ I have had many numerous encounters with spiritual beings, ghosts or presences - call them what you like. I can share that I have had encounters in England, Hollywood, California, Virginia & North Carolina. One of these encounters occurred in the older section of Northampton, England in the Elizabethan Town Square. This area was the place where William Shakespeare & other various troops of troubadours & actors came to present their vehicles for the public to view & support them monetarily, as well. The presence there was very strong, especially at night. On another evening in London’s NW10 in Willesden Green, I was staying in a house just off the Willesden High Road where I awoke to a grand party going on all around me in the front sitting room where I was lying on a sofa. People in ancient costume were swirling all around me & through me & even over my head in this front room. I could make them out, even in the dark, and it went ON & ON!!!!!! I eventually had to pull the bedclothes over my head to drift off to sleep to crowd them out of my conscoiusness. That was my favorite & most wonderful & bizarre encounter there!!! ^_^ Jean Waldorf Black (HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! ^_^)

Like I mentioned in the other thread on this subject, when I was about 3 yrs old a little girl (who looked to be about, say 6 or 8) used to come into my bedroom through the window and sit on a chair which was next to the window and talk to me. I can still remember her from the perspective of a child of 3. I told my parents about her and they believed me. I know she talked to me a lot but can’t remember what she said, except that once she asked me if she could come and lay in the bed with me and I told her “no my mom wouldn’t like that” and she didn’t. I don’t remember why or how she started to come in, or how exactly she stopped… if she said ‘goodbye’ or anything. I remember telling my parents she had ‘pointy teeth’… which sounds pretty scary now, but I don’t remember being scared about it at the time, it just happened to be an observation I made when they asked what she looked like.
