YO DER! I like men. They smell good, they sound good, lots of em look good AND, they can open the pickle jar. Is a mite tough to find one with whom to build and share a life though. I find a lot of men are afraid of ‘smart, strong’ women. In this country, the aftermath of Women’s Lib has been that the girls shook hands with their male innards and the guys just dug their heels — scared, I guess of their female nature. We still have not come to a balance of what is expected from either of us. Mom n Apple Pie bumped into the Women’s Movement and we still haven’t figured it out. Seems Dr. Klein is just plain inhospitable, of course it could be hat he just can’t cook. But I find it hard to imagine any woman wanting to spend the night at his house — in the kitchen or the bedroom. Oh well!

Yes, Jenn, thing is, Dr. Klein isn’t a man. Men cool, except there are just so dern few of ‘em. Lots of boys, and lots of whatever this character is, but precious few men. Thing I think is, the woman’s movement is not about men. It’s about us. Who we are, what we want, how we can empower ourselves to achieve those things. It’s not about men so much as it is about us and how we want to create ourselves in the world.

Excellent point, Mugsy. Clearly stated, as always.

Mr. Klein: You keep harping on “having breakfast alone.” I seriously doubt that any woman would care to sit across from you at the breakfast table in broad daylight! Perhaps some other imbecile male…..

Dearest Women, Is there anyway to graciously excuse Mark Klein and have him leave? He really is insufferable. I thought this was a women’s forum…he is so very egotistical, rude and self-centered. How can he wonder about women??? Does he think he really knows one besides his mother?

Can you imagine the audacity to keep showing up when you have been told plain and clear that you are not welcome? Ooops, on second thought- I guess I have had that same audacity to keep showing up at my job.

OK - it’s Ashton Kutsher and you are all punked. Really, this is mental masturbation and I expected more from this site.

Sometimes you just got to leave it alone.

Better questions of the day: Have you experienced sex discrimination, and when you did, what did you do about it? Since women outlive men by a considerable amount, what have you done to prepare for that financially, socially and in other ways? What are you reading that you really love? Why do you live where you are? and how rooted are you to that place?

Elizabeth - ALL great questions. I hope the site takes notice because I’d love to answer them.

Isn’t the point of conversational thread leading us where they will? Peg-O, don’t wait. This allows men to learn that the reason we multi-task so well is that hear with both ears. We can keep several conversational topics in the air at the same time. We’re jugglers. So, I’m interested in whether you are rooted to where you live? What in your immediate geography sings to your soul? PS. http:/www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9UwnCW0HDE…Injoy

Elizabeth Bennet - my favorite heroine from Jane Austen and a post worthy of her. Thank you for lifting the tenor of this silly question. If you are over 40 it’s a demeaning question. I am reading 4 books at the time. I just finished Carole Radziwell’s book (in paperback now) and it was incredibly moving and eye opening. She lost her husband (son of Lee Radziwell), and her best friends Carolyn and John Kennedy in one summer. Every woman’s life is unique and it is true - things always look better when fame and money are attached - till you know the truth. This younger woman has a lot to say. Also, “The Nine” by Toobin. Great, and makes me glad I am over 40.
