These are words that I never thought would leave my lips: I love the gym and miss working out when I’m unable to go. My family now believes there’s a pod someplace where their real mother resides and that the one uttering these words is a mere copy!
The gym itself is a new, clean facility. It has a wonderful pool and a water aerobics teacher, who isn’t that young — I could forgive her if she was young — with a perfect body and legs up here. She brings tears to my eyes and they travel down my chubby little cheeks; the class is a great one with no mirrors.
What do I like? I like that I’m left alone to do my workout; I like that they’re friendly and nice and some have worse bodies than mine :).
I do not like walking into the sauna and finding someone sitting there in the nude with boobs down to here :)
I hate the gym. There’s just so much sweat. Other people’s sweat is disgusting. I love the outdoors. I spend 8 hours a day/7 days a week in a 10x10 office…let me the hell outside! Let me breathe fresh air!
I wouldn’t say that I LOVE the gym…but I love the way it makes me feel afterwards and I like being in shape vs. not. But I DON’T love how some people ACT at the gym…so I came up with 10 things NOT to do at the gym and 10 ways to deal with the jerks who do.
Check it out here and let me know what you think!

I can’t go to the gym…….I have a disability and can’t exercise except in the pool……..I have a pool (which I keep nice and warm) and a spa.
I get my excercise playing with my great grandsons and my family right here at home. Come join me sometime……..
The older I get, the less patience I have with people in the gym and it started to feel like a job. I found myself making up excuses to not go. Of course only after I paid for the year’s fees. So, I took matters into my own hands. Started eating better using the skills I had picked up in Weight Watchers (Lifetime member for three years), got on my bicycle and took off in the country for a ride. One or two days a week turned into a passion that was free and I found I could pedal away my stress. I am fourty pounds lighter, and I have totally lost my desire to scream at the 20 somethings in the gym talking on their cell phones. Oh, and the hormone replacement medication helps too! Seriously, the bike has become my freedom. I love it.

Urgh, I hate the gym. Boring and expensive. Why whould I want to be in a room full of sweaty people doing mindless routines when I can be outdoors hiking, cycling, Inline skating, enjoying fresh air, the sun and the scenery? Beats me.
