I don’t normally contribute to political campaigns either. And never to presidential. So far in my life time there hasn’t been a president run that couldn’t open their own check book and write one to themselves for millions. I figure when you’re making 100 million a year like the clintons if you want the job you can damn well pay for it. NOT that that ever happens… BUT I do occassionally contribute to local or state elections. They aren’t usually run by people with a 100 million to their names. I know Obama isn’t worth 100 million but Oprah endorsed him. I wasn’t worried he wouldn’t have the funds to pull it off LOL.
Yes, I’ve contributed repeatedly to the Obama campaign making my most recent contribution the day after his acceptance speech in Denver. I have great confidence that Barack Obama will be an excellent president based upon his education, intelligence, compassion which brought him into the community and away from corporate law, his record of being able to work on both sides of the aisle, his record of being right about Iraq and Afghanistan his promise of well thought out, phased withdrawal from Iraq, his focus on health care reform, the brilliant campaign he has run and the excellent people he has put in place around him. Also, I believe Barack Obama is THE person to restore our reputation around the world. My first presidential election was in 1976 and this is the first time I have been so confident of and inspired by a candidate. I think at the core, it is the way Obama speaks to the best part of the American psyche.
Also I’ve contributed to Dick Durbin and Congressman Bill Foster.
I contributed early in the campaigning.
But with the company I work for is about to go under (I was notified my last day is Dec. 31st), I’ve decided to contribute to my savings account.
I try to give the minimum to Obama’s campaign each paycheck….Things are tight or I would have given the maximum;)
Yes, i contributed to the most eligible, smart and intelligent candidacy of Mrs. Clinton. I am dissapointed but i have to support Obama now because i am very afraid of the rival candidate espcially the bottom of the ticket.
Early on in the primaries I contributed to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards campaigns. I did so because I was emotionally torn because I could have seen (and wanted) anyone of the 3 to be in office. I now contribute to Sen. Obama on a regular basis to support his run for office. I know he will be an excellent President who will surround himself with the most intelligent and forward thinking men and women. I believe firmly that how a politician runs his campaign is an insight into how he will run his office. I respect how he is running in comparison to McCain.
No, As they usually have plenty of their own resourses and can always access public funding if needed.
The realization that this country might re-elect the wrecking crew to lead the country has led me to put my money where my mouth is. I’ve been contributing to the Obama campaign since I listened to the speech he gave on race last spring. And I work at the local Obama headquarters, recognizing that my time is as valuable as the monetary contributions I am able to make. There must be thousands like me (>60, retired), off our butts and in the fray, distressed about where the country has gone and convinced that only really smart people are going to be able to find a way out of this mess.
Yes, I have been contributing to Barack Obama throughout the campaign. Small amounts that are now adding up. I intend to contribute regularly until voting day. My charitable donations are automatically taken out of my bank account each month, so I don’t neglect any of them. I’m giving up a few movies and lattes and my newpaper subscriptions (read them on-line now) and am sending that money to the Obama campaign. It’s been well worth it. He raised $66 million in August alone and I proud that my small donation was part of that total.
Last month was my first time ever giving to a campaign. I donated to Obama the night after Hillary’s speech at the DNC, and then again to Obama’s after Palin’s speech. I’m one of the new 500,000 donors he won over in August. I have favorite nonprofits I support and work for, all geared toward education and improved quality of life for children here and abroad. I consider donating to Obama’s campaign keeping with that focus: We must have affordable healthcare and college tuition for all our kids in the US!
Yep! First to Hillary until she suspended her campaign and now, to Obama. All those ads cost $$$ and unfortunately, they are very influential to the undecided voters. I’ll be sending more $$$ to Obama in the next few weeks too. Sarah is waaaaaaaay too scary!
I Gave and I GIVE to DENNIS KUCINICH ! I LOVE THAT MAN !!! I have the same feelings as he yelled at the DNC ! Watch it on youtube Wake Up America ! I want to do that in a Parking-lot full of people …like at a football game or Baseball ..I just want to scream it too,, WAKE UP AMERICA !!! Rock the Vote (OBAMA) !!!
