Is Hillary Clinton being snubbed as Secretary of State?

Mary Wells: Barack Obama Isn't Snubbing Anyone

I don’t think anyone is being snubbed. I think Obama is trying to pull in all the smart useful ones and hoping they will perform a service for their country, and it is much too early to know whether American politics can handle that.

Liz Smith: Hillary Clinton Needs All the Help She Can Get

Oh, for Pete’s sake, give the secretary of state a chance to get started before judging her in such a puerile manner. She and the vice president are longtime friends … she has known Dick Holbrooke for years (I’d say all the years he tried to become sec. of state himself) and she understands all about him and his ambitions … she is just poised to begin her very hard work putting things to rights in American diplomacy.

I think it’s childish for us to stand back and attribute crappy attitudes of jealousy and competition when none of us know exactly what is going on. But I’ll bet dollars to doughnuts, knowing Hillary Clinton, that she understands she can’t do it all by herself and that there are world problems aplenty, more than enough to go around.

She also knows that Holbrooke has his work cut out for him in trying to set things right with Pakistan. I imagine she’s rooting for him and strongly in his corner. He almost didn’t take this job; it was such a daunting one.

In this world, Hillary needs more smart people helping her, not less. I believe this State Department won’t have the chance to be a "petty competition" because there is too much at stake.

Marlo Thomas: All Hands on Deck to Repair 'Reckless' Bush Nation

We have a lot of repairs to make around the world after eight years of reckless Bush diplomacy, and the more hands we have on deck, the better.

I do not believe Hillary, is snubbing or being snubbed, The lady has work too do and she is ready, for all these small minded persons that is ……….that have been dancing around, have forgot, Hillary has the best teacher around…….Bill. I am quite sure he, has taught her very well about her job, and do not need any of the last 8 years of bull, holding her back. Since the ones that is running their mouth know so much, why did they stand-by, and let Bush make do the things too the country. They did not know anything then, so its time for them close their mouth now.

Buh- Bye

Well, the WowFounders have weighed in and I couldn’t disagree more with the whole lot of them.  Namby pamby heads in the sand, if you ask me.

The proof is in the endless foreign relations appointment pudding with each new man taking a huge slurp of out what has always been the Secretary of State’s duties.  Hello!  Heads in the sand.  Heads in the sand.  Oh whoa is me.

Hi My Alias—

As usual, you see what all the rest of us — I mean ALL the rest of us — cannot see: i.e,  that Hillary the Great is being discriminated against by the Evil Obama!!!

Yes, woe is you — indeed.

Linda, Linda, good ole put-words-in-your-mouth-Linda.  I wouldn’t call him "the Evil Obama."  I would call him "the Ego Obama."

The country is in deep financial doo-doo.  There’s so much domestic work to be done.  Anyone know how much that trip to Canada in Air Force One with that security detail cost the taxpayers?  Anyone keeping a tab on how much the new prez’s unnecessary galavanting across the country has cost us so far?  I know, I know, it must be no fun at all to sit at that big lonely desk in the Oval office all day doing the work of the nation you were elected to serve, when it is so much sexier to hold press conferences, shake hands, and give little speeches to random audiences across our fair nation before kicking back at Camp David on the weekends.  Smile! Hey, your ego trip is being footed by the suffering taxpayers.

I dont understand the question…… Veep Joe Biden travels internationally and gets credit for foreign diplomacy. Holbrooke and Mitchell report directly to the president Hillary is Secretary of State, not the President. Is there an expectation that if anyone else talks to President Obama about foreign policy then Hillary will be upset? Hillary Clinton is a very respected and capable person, in my opinion, she is putting the country above any ego that she may have. If the people in the press (or on this site) would stop looking for “conflict” and start looking for improvement, questions like this wont need to be asked.

Wow, Sibelle. You didn’t understand Roger’s post at all, and yet you jumped him. He wasn’t talking about conflict here on WoW; he was talking about people looking for personality conflicts in the administration because it makes a “sexier” story and/or because it conforms with their preconceptions. Yours is just a nsty, uncalled-for post.

I’m sure Roger can handle you, but I don’t know that there is any rule here that makes a conversation “private”, is there? I would suspect that you intended to be publicly insulting, so I, as a member of that public, called you on it.

LOL…notice, whenever you confront folks like that, the topic is always suddenly changed…to something totally irrelevant and petty. I’m sure you’re already aware, but you definitely “won” (for lack of a better term ATM) once “Are you stalking me?” is the response.
