I wish I knew more about cars. McCain would definitely be an old sedan, something that was at its sexiest in the 1960s, that someone did a not-very-good job at turning into a convertible. (Think of how Bush smeared McCain with filthy lies in 2000, and McCain thought it over for about a year and then became Bush’s biggest butt-monkey. McCain USED to have principles; now Bush says “Bend over” and McCain says, “Here’s your lubricant, sir.”)
Both Clinton and Obama have spent their adult lives wanting to be president. In the 1970s, thinking she could only be president vicariously, Hillary hitched her wagon to Bill’s star. Obama spent 20 years in the congregation of an eloquent, popular preacher who occasionally likes to indulge in hateful rants about how white America is responsible for AIDS, the 9/11 attacks, global warming, and probably the crucifixion of Jesus — learning oratory, I hope, rather than his mentor’s questionable value system. I’d say both Clinton and Obama are luxury cars disguising themselves as all-American family minivans.
Yep, Cherokee Rose, I am a baby boomer. And I drive a stick shift bright yellow 2001 Jeep Wrangler with two party animals hanging out the back. They happen to be golden retrievers. Let us know if you see a presidential candidate matching that description.
Oh such an easy question to answer……..McCain would be my first car….an older VW bug…still see them on the road but wouldn’t want to take it on a long road trip, might not make it for the long haul. Obama……he’d be a fancy “wanta be” SUV, Dodge Nitro that talks the talk but can’t walk the walk. This one has the ratings of fancy looks but not good performance. Clinton is definitely a Honda Ridgeline. This one not only has a sharp look to it but is rated great in all catagories. She is a lot tougher than she looks!
Let’s say they are all Toyota,s. Clinton would be any one of the Scions. Same engine as the camry but at a set price. Obama would be the Prius. Expensive with good intentions. McCain would be the Highlander. Secret service agents in the back to cover his tracks.
Hilary would be a Camry, which is essentially the same car as a Lexus sedan just with different markers and body type. Obama would be Prius, only because it is the car of the moment, has a forward-thinking feel to it, but once one examines what it really does, one learns that it saves you gas only if you drive the streets, not the highways, regularly. Also where will be put those batteries? McCain, he would be a horse.
Such on-the-ball women! My only assurance is that I remember a lot more than many on this site, and wonder when every one will catch up with the facts on our history. Cars? Never give them much thought, but I’ve thought a lot about the tragic choice of candidates this go’around; must be a reason—nothing could randomly be this weak for America. The real candidate must stand up, soon.
Yes, the Toyota group is interesting, so perhaps Obama would be a Lexus, same vehicle as the rest but with a heap more insulation to keep out the noise. Hilary, the Camry LE with a sun-roof for greater access to her public, and family fun. McCain is still looking for his Corolla—left somewhere in the Middle East, maybe with the Suni, or was it the Shia…
Because they are all Presidential candidates, I am going to stick to domestic models: John McCain is an Edsel, Barack Obama is a Mustang and Hillary Clinton is a Buick!
I think Clinton is a Volvo van, Obama is an Audi, McCain is a Hummer. I’m thinking in candidate mode now so I’ll start with McCain- a Hummer because I think he sees himself as being more than he is, so he compensates with large over powering presents. Obama sees himself as a self assured confident man, he has it going on and he doesn’t have to flaunt it.
Clinton is able to juggle many things at once and do it well. The van is the most logical car for her to have… her car may be the only car that is red… the other cars are black… because she knows that looks can be important (one more ball she juggles) and the van carries many people because it takes a village!
