Love movies! So many and ditto! on some already named: “Steel Magnolias”; “To Kill A Mockingbird”; “Under The Tuscan Sun”; “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”; “The Quiet Man”; “How Green Was My Valley” and Ron Howard’s “Cocoon” and so many more. The one I feel I could fit right into is “Parenthood”, which I loved even if it didn’t get the greatest reviews. The humor in a dysfunctional family I completely identified with. It isn’t funny when you’re living through it, but many years later I can laugh about some of the crazy incidents.

Frannie, I chose what I thought was a “quiet man”. My Grandma always said,”it’s the quiet ones you have to be careful of.” She was right in my case, hope yours turned out better.

An Affair to Remember”. It has it all: love story, comedy, tragedy, music. Deborah Kerr was so fiesty and beautiful. Such a great movie. And I loved the scene where she meets Cary Grants Grandmother Janou and sings the title song while Janou plays the piano. A sweet and tender movie with great writing.

i would want to live in my favorite film “The Razor’s Edge”. it was so ahead of its time. a wwI vet comes home from the war looking for answers to so many questions - a reason for the carnage he has seen, the existence of a higher power, the true meaning of life. he turns his back on his friends & his affluent lifestyle & roams the earth seeking these answers. he finds a sort of inner peace, a reason for so many troubling events. seeing this film when i was growing up in the sixties, when so many were embracing a hippie lifestyle, it seemed so timely, so modern. and, it was made in the late forties! i own the film now & i still watch it from time to time. it still has great meaning for me. i’ll always love it & want to step into the screen.

A great under-rated movie - but I want to be Tyrone Power, not the sappy GIRL!

Desk Set is one of my favorites. I have a masters degree in library science and have yet to put it to use, but when I do, I want to do reference. I love watching that movie and seeing the women answering reference questions. I also love the part where Bunny tells Peg that they could get a place together when they’re old and “keep cats.” That has always struck me as so funny. Finally, I want to live in the “Laura” apartment.

Definitely “Under the Tuscan Sun” or now.. “Sex and the City”. :~) Also, anything set in NY City, and I love the excitement there!

My favorite movie is BEING THERE with Peter Sellers and Shirley MacClain. Great movie and the final scene..where Peter Sellers walks out on the water..and the narrater says, Life is just a state of mind!! Beautiful. I admire Shirley quite a lot..she says she has re-invented herself at least 7 times…What a great attitude. If one was going to “live” in a movie where this was filmed is certainly a lovely place to live..Beautiful house, beautiful grounds and a fascinating story, well acted.

When I first saw “Gone With The Wind” eons ago I wanted to be Scarlett, although I would have loved Clark Cable and not been such a horrid handful. Today when I read the question what movie popped into my head ? ——yes, you guessed it–––so maybe there’s something there that still has me in lovely gowns, flowering hats, trying to finagle through life the best that I can. My settled -down self still has the hint of Scarlett somewhere wafting through the air.

I love GONE WITH THE WIND and I love Scarlett, I will watch it always. Scarlett’s lesson that she always thought love was with Ashley, when her true happiness was with the great, strong and good Rhett. I love her fight for survival and how she seemed so selfish, but comes through for all she loved. So beautiful and such a charmer. I love that movie, all the characters are great, the clothes. I collect Hallmarks ornaments that are out Theme GONE WITH THE WIND. My favorite gift every year. I also love OUT OF AFRICA and would love to live in that movie, for the scenery alone. Another strong woman, she has better character I think.

Phyllis - Gone With the Wind is my all time favorite, too. Others on my list would include Thornbirds, North and South and another that I continue to watch over and over is Anne of Green Gables. I have a love affair going with all of these.
