A Little Love Is All Liz Smith Needs

I got it – today – a really delicious little card saying "I love you today, tomorrow and forever," and I don’t need anything more than that.

I would open my next 401K statement to see a miracle had occurred.

I’ll have the only Valentine’s Day gift I want. I’ll be in Florida with my husband, granddaughter, Chloe and other loved ones.

What Does Dave Matthews Have to Do With Julia Reed's Holiday?

A winning lottery ticket. Short of that, I am going to have a pretty nice day. I have a husband I love, and a dog who COULD have won Westminster, and two of my oldest friends (sisters I’ve known since birth) are staying with us (one is renting her house out to Dave Matthews, who is making an album in New Orleans, and the other is a fine decorative painter who has a job in town) so we have a cozy, full house and life is pretty swell.

If you’re all still on here, anyone know the name of the "deli" in Rome where they have those luscious sandwiches - Its a man’s name, Anglophile. Darn, must be my age! Prosciutto, cheese, et al . .

My brother back. When depressed about that go out somewhere cherry. Yesterday went over to see the preparations for the Pebble Beach Pro AM [a big annual charity funraisers for non-golfers] Here’s the Carmel Pine Cone on the glammy doings: http://www.pineconearchive.com/090213PCATT.pdf I was most impressed with a squirrel and seagull that came up to where I was sitting and begging for food boldly, the squirrel jumping up next to me. These guys were straight out of a Disney movie. Sorry I didn’t have a camera! There’s a relatively new chocolatier in town….very charming shop owned by an equally charming young Belgium woman. I got a chocolate coffee to go…and a chocolate truffle—very delicious. http://www.pineconearchive.com/090213PCATT.pdf Happy Valentine’s Day one and all!

To be able (literally) to walk 2-1/2 miles in 20 minutes, again. Or, even for 10 minutes.

A hug from my mom, just to have her arms wrapped around me would be nice (my parents are retired and traveling) so I rarely see them anymore.

I would love to go to dinner with my husband. Have him tell me why he loves me and then get into the hot tub and laugh about times we have shared in the last ten years.
