Well, you all have such wonderfully diverse dream concerts! After reading them all I must say that Candice got me with “September Song” played by Willie Nelson….but she cinched the deal with “The Girl from Ipanema! “.

My fantasy concert would probably be getting to meet and hear Della Reese sing, and just maybe have Reba and Alabama there too. Linda

Linda, years ago I heard Della Reese sing in Lake Tahoe….She was young and beautiful (and slender) and so was I! lol

My fantasy concert would have been Billie Holiday in some dark, smoky bar. Unfortunatly that’ll never happen. I love reading about all these other fantasy concerts though, they’re all so interesting.

My fantasy was real. One night in Brussels, daughters and I had jet lag so we wandered to the Grand Place. Suddenly there was music everywhere , an opera area which I do not even remember the name off. The Grand Place draped in the dark with a very few people in the center. The police on duty told us that they were having a problem with some speakers for the summer program and this was a late night testing. Speakers were all around the Place and one felt transported in the vibrations, for a few minutes we felt we were alone with the music and the past of that fabulous square. It was eerie and magical. My fantasy would be Neil Diamond singing just for me.

JMK Indeed, concerts on the Grand Place in Brussels are absolutly magical. It’s a real shame they only do a couple a year.

-Would loved to have attended the initial 3-Tenor concert at Caracella—in that magnificent setting with Rome at a fever pitch over the World Cup. That concert mainstreamed opera. http://www.youtube.com/watchv=x0HYSup3eDc&feature=related -In his autobio, Issac Stern, (fellow San Franciscan) wrote about practicing his violin in a little house in the south of France when a bird came to the open window to sing along. I’d liked to have been there. -It would be a dream to go back to the White House when Pablo Casals came out of exile to play for the Kennedys. -We used to do the whole pack the fancy picnic/Hollywood Bowl thing. Box seat, candles, flowers, champagne, something delicious, friends, stars above…and since it’s a fantasy, Sinatra (My Way, etc) Bob Dylan (Moonlight), The Boss (Born in the USA), Ella & Nat King Cole (Stardust and Unforgettable), Dino (Sway), Perry Como (And I Love You So) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SzQyWy_7uE -A certain someone would come back to life for a night and we’d float around in a boat filled with gardenias on Lake Como drinking champagne for a private concert with Charles Aznavour—including “She.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG_e38MpHJU&feature=related -Christmas in Santa Fe…cold, snowy, the acrid smoke in the air, all the cool garb people come up with there, and a Enya concert in the square. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NNLzheTxCA -I would have liked to have seen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kL0WFcygdWY -I was here on 7/6/2000 when Bocelli gave an amazing performance at the Statue of Liberty. He and his father held a dream they’d someday do the concert together, but his father died. At the end of the concert he sang a song…go now if you must. I was thinking imagining all the collective years of practicing for excellence in all the musicians on stage, all the care that went into making their instruments, the logistics of everyone coming together there. It was magic, and the WTC was still standing and golden in night. Here he is singing Santa Lucia Luntana. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qy87XpqAXg0 Same night the SUPER charming, Ana Maria Martinez: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaNHhiKB5hA I’ve been to so many great music events and wish there’d be tons more that were free so everyone could attend.

I’d go back to the Sixties in San Francisco - I went to the Fillmore Auditorium every Thursday night and I saw some wonderful shows. Local bands like the Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Big Brother (before and after Janis Joplin), Jefferson Airplane and all the great bands who came to town like the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, the Doors, Cream, Eric Clapton, Buffaloe Springfield - too many to list. It was a wonderful time to be young - now that I’m old(er), I’d love to hear that magic again.

Laurel, Never saw Grateful Dead, but I was lucky to catch the rest. Joni Mitchell and Buffalo Springfield at The Greek were great. There are so many. One of my husband’s earlier girlfriends owned a ticket agency so he went to everything. He was lucky.

Absolutely - the ones outdoors (Jefferson Airplane In Berkeley) and the ones with the light shows were the best!

Then: To have seen Joni Mitchell perform in the 70’s, during her “confessional period” would have been It for me. Now: To see Stevie Nicks, in a small venue, perform work from her “Shangra-La” cd. Always: Any of the great, classical pianists.

I had a fantasy concert which I’ve mentioned before. Judy Garland several months before she died……..She was thrilling to hear and see. My real fantasy would be a concert of Enrico Caruso. I loved his voice. I have a very old record of his voice. It’s scratchy but still great. I agree with French Heart……Free concerts would be wonderful. Most Music events are too expensive for people to attend with family. In our area it’s almost $100 a ticket to go to anything. (that’s the cheap tickets)

My fantasy would have been to sing backup vocals on the Pink Floyd Pulse tour. 2 hours of hearing David Gilmour sing and play every night with Rick Wright? HEAVEN!

My concert fantasy is, I am mystically turned into Stevie Nicks and am singing lead for Fleetwood Mac, wearing flowing scarves and high heeled boots…divine!
