Happy Birthday, George. Ever consider early retirement?

Sheila Nevins: 'I'd Like to Take President Bush to Arlington Cemetery'

I’d like to take President George W. Bush to Arlington Cemetery, Section 60 — where soldiers lie buried from the war in Iraq. Median age about 25. I’d like it to rain on him with the volume of tears he has caused. Drenched with this sorrow, I would like him to light a candle at each gravesite and pause and reflect on the agony of these losses. Cheney should go with him and kiss this hallowed ground.

What Do Birthdays and George W. Bush Have in Common for Mary Wells?

As I keep saying, I don’t believe birthdays are good for my health. I don’t think George is good for my health either.

Liz Smith: He's Not Worth My Time

I will leave the worst president in our history to heaven. Nothing will be served in making him face up to being a war criminal. And a liar and traducteur of the constitution. Let us move on.

Phyllis, Instead of silver shimmer or Batman comic gift wrap…how about the “Mission Accomplished” banner…..you know the one from May 2003? Hmmm, might be a tad dusty since that would make the Mission Accomplished 5+years ago. Funny, how that is. The US won WWII in under 4 years and on multiple fronts, not in a little country smaller than California with 2/3’s it’s population and no planes. But didn’t Georgie have such a swell time announcing it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFijzDyJnVE And especially with Bush being such a Top Gun…oh that’s right he was AWOL from the Natl Guard. Never mind, he was a good cheerleader http://www.the7thfire.com/images/BushCheerleader.jpg And he’s a dancing fool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOtYrD31DsU&feature=related So let’s see, giftwrap for a cheerleader who likes to dance. How about Barbie Dancing Princess giftwrap, or the Mission Accomplished banner. Hard to choose-I think he’d like both. Just nothing wih horses, he’s afraid of those, so none on the ‘ranch’. http://www.heroesforkids.co.uk/images/BARBIE/barbie12giftwrap.jpg

As I read through the wowOwow women’s comments, all the hosts - and all but 3 of the guests - are vocal, and sometimes very unkind, about their disapproval of Bush. Three guests of 47 were supportive, sometimes (understandable) defensive. I wonder whether we are a microcosm of the country, and if so, how we will ever come together through such divisiveness and anger to solve our many problems. Apparently, Mr. President, you were not a uniter, but a divider. Happy Birthday.

Jesus was a divider, but was he the one to blame? Martin Luther King’s statements caused an enormous uproar in the country. Bill and Hillary…well…hardly two more divisive people. Ghandi divided a country. Competition of powerful ideas usually brings out passions on both sides.

I have a birthday with for him, but I will not post it here. I am terribly disappointed to see any words from Ms. Coulter. Not too sure I was to be part of this site if she continues to be here. With that said, have a great 4th of July everyone.

Sorry, I meant to say “wish” not “with” LOL

Hi Rho, Happy 4th of July. You’re certainly not alone in your vocal distain for Ms. Coulter. There’s a clear majority with you. I am curious, though. By what means do we judge who should or should not be a host, or a guest? Interestingly, all hosts agree on their position. Shall it be language? Position? Who should judge whether someone should participate? And, by the way, everyone has a typo now and then. No big deal.

Not being a spewer of hate and a proponent of violence might be good criteria.

Hi Maurine, One of my favorite comedians is Kathy Griffith, who has been banned from quite a few TV shows for being “mean” in her act. Lots of people think she’s hateful, too, and I think she’s hilarious. My question is based on the fact that I am very concerned about censorship, and wonder where the line can be drawn. Some people on both sides of some of polical issues have had comments that included violence. Happy 4th, Maurine. You’re always such a pleasure to chat with.

Hi KItty - I’m a fan of Kathy Griffith’s, too. I think the difference is that she makes as much fun of herself as she does of others, and she is not advocating violence. Also, Kathy is a professional comedian…they have a lot of leeway in our society. Coulter fancies herself a political commentator/watchdog/whatever and I believe she takes herself extremely seriously. She’s well educated and has chosen to focus all that expensive schooling on spreading as much negativity and hatred as she can. That she advocates violence towards individuals is enough for me to want her banned from this website. If she continues to be allowed to write here…I’m gone. Along with quite a few others, I believe. Then wOw will be comprised, not of thoughtful writers who like to engage in real conversation, but of ranters and trolls. Introducing someone like Coulter is entirely unnecessary. If the wOw executives want an on-line version of a Jerry Springer show, just to bump up their ratings, that’s very sad. I’d thought better of them in the beginning.

It interests me that Ms. Peggy Noonan, obstensibly one of the masthead women, does not post on even an erratic basis. I’d much rather hear from her than from those who so clearly drank the Kill-aid. Um, oops, Kool-aid. And of course Kathy Griffin rocks.

Oops! Kathy Griffin is who I meant. Bad kitty.
