If you could, what decade would you like to repeat? Would you do it all the same?

When Joan Ganz Cooney Was Thirtysomething

Thirty to 40 was my happiest decade but I wouldn’t care to repeat it.

Marlo Thomas Thinks Back on Her 30s

I’ve had some great decades. But my 30s were a very exciting and formative time for me. I had been working so hard through my 20s that I just ignored a lot of my feelings. I put them aside — I was just too busy (and tired) for them. But somewhere in my 30s I grew into being a woman and allowed myself to take the time to explore and feel all of it. And it informed all the years that came after it. I don’t want to go back and do that decade again, but had I not had that time, I would be in an entirely different place from where I am now. And I like where I am now.

The Decade Ahead for Mary Wells

My past is full of mistakes I wouldn’t dream of repeating – the big ones and those little ones like those apricot silk draperies I couldn’t afford for my first apartment. I look forward to tomorrow and next year because the beauty of aging is that you do get wiser.

Liz Smith: Once Wet Behind the Ears

I don’t particularly want to relive anything, but if I have to choose I would say New York City in the ’50s when I first arrived green and eager. It was just five years after World War II and the city was glorious and the world was my exotic oyster.

Definitely my 20s were the most interesting and experimental. I lived in five different cities in four different states, GA, VA, MA and NY. My entire worldly belongings fit in the backseat of a car. I don’t think I have the energy for that anymore, but I would love to go back in time and do some things differently. Make that a lot of things differently.

C A Rose
I would like to redo the 1960’s. It’s not about doing it the same or different. It’s more about remembering what I actually did. A few years ago after dad died my mom asked me what I did every time I ran away from home. All I could tell her was, ‘Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll.’ Everything else is kinda fuzzy. She didn’t quite get it, but I’m sure that all of you have a general idea of what I meant.

Yep the later part of the 60’s and early 70’s—I had a lovely time with Anne, I was over the war by then a certain amount and the music and the life of those years were very special. I’d do it over in a flash! Oh my yes.

I Love Money And Money Loves Me
I’ve had a lot of fun, many great experiences and made my share of mistakes. Am excited about the future…and things that are happening now. Don’t really want to go back. And all the good things I carry with me anyway.

I have some serious regrets—I definitely would go back in a nanosecond.
