What Amazes Joan Ganz Cooney?

Weather and all of nature including, very importantly, the animals who live in the wild create endless awe and mystery in my life partly because man cannot control weather (although we may be affecting it) and because it can be so utterly destrucive, and because man did not create the mountains and rivers nor all the animals that roam the earth. As for what humans have created, communications technology is endlesssly mysterious to me and I’m always in awe of it.

Why Seeing Birds and Puppies Makes Liz Smith Ponder Life's Mysteries

More and more I find my “shock, awe and mystery” in the vagaries, beauties and surprises of nature, in the now disappearing beautiful birds of the world, in the fluid waters of many excellent aquariums and in the more painful confines of its zoos. Also, in the many beautiful photographic books about nature and this universe. One can always gaze skyward at night to be shocked almost insensible with wonder. And what about those puppies and kittens in the windows of puppy mills? If they don’t break your heart and fill you with awe and mystery over how little you can do to help them, then what does?

love is absolutely awesome, and it does more for she who loves than it does for she who is loved. when it is returned, it is miraculous. as for springtime after winter, that is pretty awesome, too.

Men. They will forever be a beautiful mystery to me. How they look, walk, move, think, speak…..the essence of men bewilders me. They are like flowers in a way, some in different colors, shapes, sizes and scents. Yet at the same time there is something similar in each one….something that identifies them as being exclusively male and not female. I love diversity and seek it out in every aspect of my life, and for some reason men will forever be the one aspect of life I know will always serve as a source of entertainment for me.

The seasons. Animals. New babies. Wildflowers. The love of my husband.

Just life people, just life creates that feeling in me. The way God created us, and the way we speak. Everyone speaks different languages. And sometimes I would meet like Chinese and Indians and I dont understand a word they are saying. Not like Spanish where u pick up here and there. Everyone has vision, we see stuff. Our eyes are there and it awes me. Then there is the wind. The wind awes me the most. How it blows, come and goes, it does. Then there are the stars and the planets up above that create a general awe in me. I want to go and see more up there. I want to know the true meaning of LOVE and I want to study if God IS real. It puzzles me how we can all react different to situations. How cats love to be petted and loved just like human beings. How we want to be loved by others. Tell me people, dont just everything about LIFE itself put you in awe with all its mysteries and stuff? Love, Felicia
