Adopt T. Boone Pickens's Wind Machine, Pronto

Well, I think we are out of our minds that we haven’t already followed the example of France where they have perfected nuclear energy without an accident and are now all but energy-free of foreign oil. France is one of the most ecologically clean countries in Europe because of this. What are we waiting for?

Will we spend the last dime of our waning economic capital on the last drop of Arab and Russian oil?

And I think we should adopt T. Boone Pickens’s wind machine project as well. The sooner the better.

Why Nuclear Power Is Vital to Our Future

I think we’d better get on it soon or we’re going to become hopelessly dependent on foreign oil and destroying the environment.

I really don’t mind nuclear power as an energy source, because we really do need more energy if we wanna continue living the way we’re used to. I’m just worried what might happen if anything goes wrong with any nuclear device…

That’s another sack of crap that the big boys have been feed us. They use fear to make Americans afraid of Nuclear Power. This way they can keep us dependent on oil. We need to use everything at out disposal to get us off of the oil train that is sinking us all. Nuclear, Wind, Electric, Natural Gas, use it all if it will bring the prices of our everyday products back into focus. We have the intelligence and know how to get this job done. “Wake up America”! Look through the smoke that they have been blowing up our butts! Losing your home, job, or family has no color. It effects us all equally!

Oh by the way……….. Those of you who sent me good wishes about my health…I thank you. My Doctor doesn’t see any long range plans to change my problems. I guess Pain Pills and I are going to be “Buddy’s for LIfe” I got my morphine refilled. (I do hate taking that powerful a drug but nothing else seems to relief me of the awful pain………….) Even on morphine I still have pain and unable to do very much. I always say to my family………as long as I can keep my sense of HUMOR I Can get thru anything. Having all my wonderful friends here on WOW is a great help. Now I won’t talk about that anymore……….. ON to better things. Anxious to hear Hillary’s speech. Heading for my TV right now.

Can anyone say Chernobyl? Okay then, the question of the safe and long-term disposal of nuclear waste should cause us all to pause. When in panic-mode, humans tend to go blindly blasting into untested waters for what are perceived to be “solutions” when, in the end, they are not. We barely know how to get rid of our household garbage! As to the dangers of windmills to wildlife—remember TV satellites in the early days that were as big as a Winnebago? Now they are the size of dinner plates. I suspect with some thought, we can figure out how to harness that wind without building monster structures that impede avian navigation or the landscape. We cannot produce and put into place enough wind or sun power to sustain the current demands for power. It is going to take time. This energy crisis is screaming for cool heads to prevail. We need to calm down and get to work. This is America! We put a man on the moon and invented Twinkies! We can do anything! And, BTW, what the HECK are we doing accepting France’s nuclear waste? No wonder Sarkozy buddied up to W. He had to be laughing inside for sure.

You mean ‘nuclar’? That’s what our lame duck president Dubya calls it. Doesn’t know what it is or how to pronounce it. Peace and grace

Yes, to Nuclear Power. We should be using all of our resources. We should be solving the problems they may create. It is essential that we reduce our dependency on oil. I have faith that the human race can do anything they put their mind to. (Not an orgrinal thought.)The question is, have we really tried or is it easier to go along with business as usual? Write your congress representive and let your opinions be known. Take an active part in learning about the canidates you want to vote for. Then vote! Don’t leave it to the next guy. Change your light bulbs, recycle, unplug, reduce your speed, go green as much as you’re comfortable with, etc., etc. Keep an open mind to new ways to help this be a better place to live. Most of all, believe that it’s the accumulated small things we do that makes the difference.

I am all for Nuclear….amends as I just now discovered this discussion. I recommend nuclear eneergy the way that Norway does it, over France. The French HAVE had their ‘spills’, and their leaks, but they have not had a Chernoble experience. Nor will Norway have those events.. Norway uses Thorium instead of Uranium. The use of Thorium is not a ‘new’ idea, and it confounds me, at times, that Uranium, with all its’ negative possibilities and perceptions, took the lead. With Uranium——weapons can be made of the leftovers. With Thorium—weapons can NOT be made of the leftovers. Uranium—-thousands of years to break down the waste. With Thorium, only hundreds of years, by comparison. With Uranium—-a Chernoble: with Thorium—not possible. There is more Thorium in the world than there is Uranium, and even AMERICA has a substantial Thorium supply, as does Norway, India, Russia, and a little bit in China, too!! So WHATS’ da Problem? ‘POLITICS’ !!!! Bush actually made sure there was money for 5 years, in the US Budget, allocated to a joint research project with Russia. So most of us have actually paid for that research, through our tax dollars….and guess who is benefitting from that—-not America!? BUT THE UAE!!!! Why? Because they are building the Nuclear Reactors, Thorium based, in their own part of the world, so that they can sell us their oil, instead of using their oil for themselves!!!!!!
