My Alias, I adore the Singing Nun singing “Dominique”. If only Beatrice Lillie could have gotten Noel Coward to write a refrain.

My family has a thing about The Singing Nun song. More than once I have picked up my phone messages to hear Dominique playing away as the message and laughter on the other end.

My Alias, what a great family. We Singing Nun folks, well, maybe we could make a habit of it.

My parents used to play the singing nun for us as children, and my brother gave it to each of us a couple of years ago when it was released on CD. But then I googled her and found out what a sad ending she had, which took some of the fun out of it.

Candy Man” (Sammy Davis, Jr.); “Chances Are” (one of the more nauseating songs by Johnny Mathis); “The Day That the Rains Came Down” (Jayne Morgan). By the way, what ever happened to Perry Como?

OK Patricia- Your “Candy Man” reminded me of the album by Johnny Nash…song: ” I Can See Clearly Now”. Still have it. I also have Helen Reddy…. I Am Woman. Oh yes I do! I’m sure there are others hiding in the pack of albums down in my basement.

OK Josie— Any possibility of procuring your copy of “I Can See Clearly Now.” Any chance , too, you might find Perry Como’s “Hot Diggity (Dog Ziggity Boom)” hiding in the pack of albums in your basement? I’d even send a messenger to collect both. Oh yes I would!

Dona: Glad to bring back a great memory for you. But I am in despair over not being able to make contact with Perry Como. I haven’t even been able to find someone to “channel” him.

Thanks GEEGEE: I’m on my way out the door to buy a complete compilation of Perry Como songs. Fortuitously, the iTunes store is open 24/7 so I don’t have to wait another minute. I’m giving up my symphony tickets tomorrow evening so I can stay home and listen to Perry Como.

Patricia B………Perry Como lived in South Florida after his retirement. He died a few years ago after a long bout with Alzheimers Desease. Used to love to watch his shows each week.

Oh how I wish I could have watched Perry Como croon on the tube. Sadly, I never saw his show because my parents let me watch television for only one hour a week. So it was either “Howdy Doody” or Perry Como. Since Howdy didn’t make records and Perry did, it followed that I would watch Howdy and listen to Perry on my Victrola. To this day I still cannot understand why my parents believed it was more important to read than watch Perry Como. Would you by chance happen to know where, exactly, Perry lived in South Florida so next time I am there, I could drive by his former home, sit in my rental car, slip “Perry Como’s Greatest Hits” into the CD player and turn his music up real loud as a kind of belated tribute to him. Again, I thank you for the update on him. Though Perry Como is no longer with us, he remains in my ears forever.
