Those who should have run include Barbara Jordan and Maxine Waters. Ann Richards might have been great as well.

Hillary is our only hope for now so get on the train, girls. If she fails, it will take another 50 years to see a woman in the White House as #1.

Hillary is brilliant and experienced and will bring a woman’s wisdom to a world run by males since the beginning of history. One day half the world leaders could be women, and then, the politics of war and violence would change. This is our chance to help this happen. We must stand by her. We may not have this opportunity for many years. She and Obama would be a great ticket, and Obama can be president later on. Eleanor Roosevelt, Shirley Chisholm, Barbara Jordan, Ann Richards would have made great presidents.. … but except for Chisholm, they could never have gotten this far. Let’s support Hillary!

Oh, ferheavenssakes! What woman ISN’T more qualified than Ronald Reagan? And I thought the irony prize should be retired permanently when the Shrub awarded Nelle Harper Lee the Medal of Freedom…. Since he’s probably the only person in the United States who never actually read To Kill a Mockingbird. There have always been women as qualified as the men who sat in the oval office (and got blow jobs, and snorted coke and whatever else the boys do in there….). Eleanor Roosevelt certainly was a match for any of them. Ann Richards was as shrewd a horse-trader as her fella Texan, Lee-un-don. Marietta Tree could go toe to toe with Adlai Stevenson, so who couldn’t she match? Shirley Chisholm was a force of nature. And does anyone not know that Mrs. Graham ran Washington from her livingroom for years? ‘There are thousands upon thousands of women qualified to be President. Senator Clinton, however, is the one most qualified to deal with the current mess. After all the total crap that has been slung at her over the past 30 years, she still gets up, brushes her teeth, gets dressed, and does her job. The only person currently running I would want anywhere near the Chinese government or the Saudis. While I’m at it, I think we should stop calling her “Hillary.” She is Senator Clinton, and it is a way to denigrate her status and the respect she deserves for earning that office. As in, oh, she’s a senator, but that doesn’t really matter, because she’s just “Hillary,” Bill’s wife…. Nope, sorry, the proper terms (check this with Ms. Martin, please) are President Clinton and Senator Clinton.

Totally agree, Mugsey. Any confusion could be settle by referring to her, rightfully, as Senator Clinton, an office of distinction. Please, let’s remove the “cute” buttons “I’m your girl” Whose idea was that? Senator Clinton is no girl, not because of age but of stature. Throw out those buttons; they’re losing more votes than gaining.

My vote would go to Madelyn Albright. Smart, experienced, compassionate!

Condoleezza Rice would be the best! Here is a woman that has been out there doing the job better that most men have done! She is smart and quick on her feet and has been in the “trenches.” This is the woman America needs. I feel she would be her own person and NOT a spin off of the Bush administration. I’ve never understood why Senator Clinton didn’t go back and become a Senator in her home state? Was it because they knew her too well? I am all for a women president, I did 28 years in the military, and I’m ready for a women president but I don’t feel Senator Clinton should have that honor. The bottom line is getting out there and voting and making sure that we “the people” ensure that who we are voting for, starting at the local levels, are the ones with our best interests. If you aren’t voting then you are basically saying “I don’t care.” We need everyone to care! I love this country and as a women I have put my life on the line and I DO CARE!

Condoleezza Rice and everyone has forgotten about Elizabeth Dole, who is wonderful and smart, and concerned about human rights. But the best possibility is to put Condoleezza on the ticket for Vice President this year. I see most of you are Democrats but speaking for Republican women out there, I like Condi!!

I think Hillary is a great choice. She’s a strong woman. The problem is that this country is still so male-oriented. A woman is either a witch (with a b) or she’s to emotional. We’ve heard both about Hillary. She had a episode of tears. They claimed that she was to emotional and couldn’t really deal with the job. Being emotional doesn’t mean you can’t deal with a job. It means that you are passionate about the job and feel the frustrations of not being able to do the job to benefit everyone. I say—-GO HILLARY!!!

SUSAN B. ANTHONY IF SHE WERE ALIVE TODAY! I recently completed a screenplay about Susan B. Anthony & Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and spent five years researching them. I also had gotten Susan’s Childhood Home in Battenville on the NY State and National Historic Register. She also convinced the bank of this foreclosed property to donate it to the NY State Parks Department and would love to make a museum for Women’s Rights & Suffrage. rednails4me@yahoo.com
