Ms Dee…..Your health. May it stay wonderful for you. Health is a most precious item and one doesn’t always recognize how important until it is too late.
A toast to your good health!
I have not one, but a few favourite possessions…
My Grandparents’ (maternal) wedding rings (including Grandma’s engagement ring) that I wear every day since I got them. Both Grandma and Grandpa passed away in 1996.
The very last text-message my mother sent me, at 10.33 in the morning of Dec 3rd, 2001. She died 6 hours later.
My Grandparents’ (still maternal), framed, wedding-photo. They were married on Oct 22nd, 1938.
The photo of my Grandparents’ summer house. The house doesn’t exist anymore. I’ve spent so much time there, ever since I was just a few months old, up until they sold it in 1989. I still miss going to it.
My computer is a another fav possession!
And, if you can call them possessions, my gang of mischievous cats. Although, I bet they see me as their possession!
Thanks, D.T. I just went to her blog site and sent her an Email.
Hope all is dandy down your way. The temps up here have been like a roller-coaster for weeks. The temps were around zero with 15-below windchills just a few days ago, and now it may hit 50 degrees today (Thursday) in Lansing.
I’m doing well down here. It will be in the 60’s here by Saturday, at which time the yard man will start cleaning up the disaster that used to be called my backyard and garden…
Waiting for the computer repairman to return to finish up fixing this contraption after worms and trojans got into this past weekend. Bummer!
Hmmm…my engagement/wedding ring and the memories it holds. My husband proposed to me in front of his entire family, got down on one knee, the whole shebang. It was a wonderful moment. My dogs. In general, this life. I know I’m blessed, and I never take a moment of it for granted.
After I reading this article, I realized that my greatest possessions are my God-given human rights. Political correctness crushes those rights, and is “tyranny with manners.”

The building blocks of a lifetime full of memories: albums full of photos dating from my solemn images of my great-grandparents to my grandchildren’s joyful school graduations. Other albums containing letters, cards, clippings, poetry, certificates, diplomas and other little mementos from my family and friends. These treasures give me a context, a framework for the path I’ve taken during the past six decades.
The CD I had made for viewing at my husband’s funeral. It contains special pictures of him as a baby, his school years, Marine Corp years and pictures of our life together. It shows him with his beautiful thick hair and him after he lost his hair from the brain surgeries and chemo/radiation treatments. He has been gone almost 4 years now but I still have my memories and those great pictures.
When I was younger I had tons of favorites, now this all seems to have vanished. I collected this and that and now I can’t wait till my shelves are bare. Of course my family , all of them , are my fave’s but most of all my Maltese, Toto. He is my everything right now.
