Whoopi's Wish for McCain's Running Mate

I would like to see John McCain pick Michael Bloomberg or Bill Richardson.

Joan Ganz Cooney Can Only Hope

I haven’t given this any thought and only hope he chooses someone who doesn’t add strength to the ticket.

Liz Smith: Paris Hilton for Vice President!

Definitely Paris Hilton. She has already shown us she’s not just another pretty face. She has political moxie if you’ve seen her ad. And as I think his campaign has had all the makings of total farce, what’s one more extravagant nothing?

Mary Wells Is No Help to John McCain

I don’t have a favorite for John McCain. I am inspecting all the states and am not sold yet. I bet both he and Obama stay up nights twisting and turning and grinding their teeth on this question.

Lots of people think there was some illegal tinkering with the elections in 2000 and 2004 and that the person who got the most votes, or would have, if some people were not kept from voting, was not sworn into office. That is my biggest fear, that the GOP, knowing that they are in the tank for eight years of horror, figure out a way to fix the voting machines and keep people from voting, and so forth, all over again. Or maybe not just the GOP, maybe some cabal of ruthless neocons who will do what they can to preserve the Imperial Presidency in the hands of their pals. Even better for them if McCain is losing it; it makes him easier to control.

Your fear is well founded and the more they push for a voting system with no paper trail, the more likely it is. In fact, there were huge discrepancies in our exit polls and the actual numbers in the last election. And there is a lot of scary information out there about Diebold electronic voting machines and those involved in that company and in giving it gov’t contracts.

Or how about Letterman?

Maurine, Letterman’s “Top Ten Reasons McCain Smells Old” probably took him out of the running. That and Cindy won’t let Letterman’s “Will it Float Girls” on the campaign bus, and everyone knows he doesn’t leave home without The Girls. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGaEZ5owfoc&feature=related

Definitely Lieberman. Then he can go down in history as the only man to have been deafeated for Vice President on both parties’ tickets.

In honor of Je Speak Franglais Day I say Florence Foresti impersonating Segolene Royal to give McCain some badly needed je ne sais quoi. Put some teaser in the geezer! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlwyGOmG2Gg My second choice would be Richard Gere as in his advisory role below…but then Rove has that down pat…albeit without the good looks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBM82Ju2kJU&feature=related

How about Dog the Bounty Hunter - they’d make a terrific team. I bet the Dog’s wife would kick McCain into next Sunday if she heard him call his wife “that name” again.
