Whoopi's Wish for McCain's Running Mate

I would like to see John McCain pick Michael Bloomberg or Bill Richardson.

Joan Ganz Cooney Can Only Hope

I haven’t given this any thought and only hope he chooses someone who doesn’t add strength to the ticket.

Liz Smith: Paris Hilton for Vice President!

Definitely Paris Hilton. She has already shown us she’s not just another pretty face. She has political moxie if you’ve seen her ad. And as I think his campaign has had all the makings of total farce, what’s one more extravagant nothing?

Mary Wells Is No Help to John McCain

I don’t have a favorite for John McCain. I am inspecting all the states and am not sold yet. I bet both he and Obama stay up nights twisting and turning and grinding their teeth on this question.

Ha! Of course, if you meant this in jest … well, I can be shamefully ‘dimwitted’ at times.

Maizie ….. indeed my reference to Phyllis is a compliment.

Be careful what you say about 72-year-olds, Folks. I’m married to one - and there are 40-year-olds who follow him around and try to keep up! And they all ask me how he does it. Dunno, I can’t keep up with him, either, and I’m seven years younger than he is! I think the whole old-age issue is a red herring.

Linda I couldnt agree with you more…My Fiance’ Dad will be 76 this December and works 12 + hours a day & his mind is still like a whip…just b/c he can’t recall a certain name or event that happened over his 76 years doesn’t mean he is getting altzeimers…its just another way for the Dems to attack below the belt like they always do…….

No Way-No How -No McCain
I don’t think it’s the 72…I think it’s the particular man that’s 72 and it’s been made an issue just as it was when JFK ran (too young?) and Reagan ran (too old?). Come on ladies, it doesn’t matter who runs…there will always be something…otherwise they couldn’t sell papers/TV pundits would go dry, etc.

Thanks, C O and Winery………now I don’t feel so much like a voice crying in the wilderness. Has anyone else noticed that the original question of John McCain’s choice for a running mate has disappeared in the smoke of all these other “spins.” Cripes! First they have Mit Romney “strapping his dog” to the roof of the car. Then they bring up the C-word that McCain supposedly used to describe his wife - altho’ I’ve also seen that attributed to George Bush. Then we go off on a long tangent about McCain and Alzheimer’s……………enough, already! I’d like to know what the thoughts are on a potential running mate for John McCain.

Llieberman seems to be a very serious contender for McCain’s VP. As a democrat, I’m sincerely amazed. By according to Politico: ‘One obstacle for Lieberman may be legal. A GOP official said that since he is not a Republican, Lieberman may have a challenge being certified on some state ballots.
… But GOP sources say McCain and his close friend Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) still haven’t given up hope on making what some believe would be a game-changing decision by tapping Lieberman.” http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0808/12646.html

I liked Mike Huckabee…Not sure if he is even a contendor but it would be nice to see McCain and Huckabee….Oh well….

I agree C O. I’ve met Huckabee and found him to be just as genuine on stage as off. Some of his ideas don’t thrill me, especially his record for tax hikes, but a VP slot would suit him well.

I just heard that they are printing up Obama/Bayh bumper stickers, can anyone confirm?

Hi Frannie, If they did, they’re going to have to add “-din” after the Bayh.
