Star ——Someone said “Let your emotions control how you vote” (or something like that). Respectfully, I see a lot of ‘emotion’ on this website who are letting their emotions control their “choice”.
You just keep on coming — I like that!!!! LOL
Star, that is how you weigh such an important decision as to whom you will vote for in such an important presidential election?
I won’t beat a dead horse with a broken record (as I like to repeat) by going into why I won’t vote for Obama. So now I am down to whether to vote for McCain or write in…Yes, seeing Romney as president could make me chicken out. Ooops—chicken, animal..Romney…
Star you have the right to your choice. I only ask that you read this article before making it.

Phyllis: already read it. Rich is spot on! If he gets momentarily confused now I’d hate to see him when the balloon goes up with Russia!
Phyllis
I don’t look at those things because both sides create those edited versions of inanities. Someone wanted me to look at one of Obama and what they referred to as his ‘stuttering and confusion’. I didn’t participate, I gave Obama the benefit of the doubt and I chalked it up to a grueling primary season. I think it is wonderful that you guys have your man, but neither of the candidates were my first pick, so I wait until after the debates. Sometimes I know before then, but this time I don’t. so I read and watch how they handle themselves, and how much they flip flop.
Hi Frannie,
I’ve looked through this thread asking, “Who do you think McCain should choose as his running mate?” and saw nothing but attacks against the candidate.
The polls I’ve seen show the race very close, but McCain supporters must be either silent or avoiding voicing their opinion because of the propensity of Obama supporters. Who would be your preference for a Republican #2, if I may ask?
Kitty,
I would like to see a woman on the ballot with him, but I am not conversant of the accomplishments on those who are in the running. I said Lieberman in the beginning just to start the ball rolling, but I was being facetious. If not a woman, I think Romney would be a good choice because of his domestic and international business acumen. His ability to create jobs. Globalization is a reality, but I want solid plans to get our country’s economy robust and open more doors for better science and engineering. McCain has been a soldier or a politician all of his life. He hasn’t had a job outside of working for the government. I want to see someone that knows business. It is the nuts and bolts of a good economy. He has also been a governor before so knows the workings of interdepartmental agencies, how they work together, and where they fall down.
I honestly haven’t paid that much attention to it, because I can’t vote on the choice. If I had to vote before the convention, then I would pay more attention.

Frannie Em, I disagree with you. He is not holding up at all. Either that, or in this clip, he is simply a bad liar. Bush could wing it better than McCain did in the clip above, and that’s saying a mouthful!
Diana, that clip reminded me of too many days in the beginning of my husband’s dementia/Alzheimer.
In the beginning this is a disease where every one goes into denial.
For some it takes years before one truly wants to face that there is something wrong with the person.
I heard Nancy Reagan say that when he left the governors job he started the now famous journal
because he was afraid he was forgetting too much.
It is different for every one, it can take 25 years and some go downhill within a few years.
You are so correct JMK. The anger, I guess seems to go with the early stages? My mother had dementia, was not Alzheimer’s, but her anger really intensifiedover the years. I would think that they get so frustrated. When I worked all those years for the internist, it appeared as though one’s personality problems become moreso, the assertive patients became more assertive, while the quiet, passive patients became so docile. I saw this time and again.
When dad had his stroke with aphasia problems that got worse and worse, he would get so frustrated that he would start cussing because he could not get anything else out.
Don’t you remember when Nancy Reagan would stand behind the president’s left shoulder and queue him his words? People don’t realize that alzheimer’s can take years to manifest itself. And, because McCain was incarcerated all those years in a prison camp, I suspect that he has permanent unresolved issues as a result.
I simply think it is scary. We know we had one president in the Oval Office with it, this time I hope we vote with our eyes wide open.
I will have you on my mind today because you are a very courageous person to endure this heartbreak with your loved one.
It does not take courage Diana, believe me. I take one step at a time. One day at a time.
The anger is there for a lot of people. My husband was very agree at first and when
I questioned him , he would say:”what do you think that I am stupid”
He was angry because he did not know what we were talking about.
A cousin of mine was very angry at the end and of all things he talked in German and never spoke the language before.
At this point , (10 years now) my husband is very mild but can’t make a sentence and does not know our son.
Often does not know me.
Thus I am not going to vote for Mc Cain, I never intended to do so but I do think people should be watching
his reactions and especially his wife.
If he does mistakes in public he must do a heck of a lot more at home.
One should hope if his wife sees changes that she would try to put a stop to this election , Nancy knew and did n’t.
