Philip Markoff Accused 'Craigslist Killer' | 05/01/2009 8:20 am
16 Pairs of Underwear Found Under Philip Markoff's Bed

Investigators told reporters on Thursday that they have found 16 pairs of women’s underwear hidden under the bed of accused "Craigslist Killer" Philip Markoff — yes, the same bed Markoff shared with his former fiancée, Megan McAllister.
Two unidentified law-enforcement sources told ABC News that the 23-year-old medical student appeared to be collecting underwear as "souvenirs" from his alleged victims. Police also found under the bed 60 pairs of plastic Flex-Cuf restraints and duct tape. These were reportedly next to a hollowed-out copy of Gray’s Anatomy that hid a semiautomatic weapon police believe Markoff used to shoot Julissa Brisman.
Before his April 20 arrest for the murder of Brisman, Markoff was engaged to his college sweetheart McAllister. On Wednesday, McAllister wasn’t wearing her engagement ring when she visited Markoff in Nashua Street Jail, in Boston. Shortly after, her lawyer announced that the wedding has been called off and his client, also a medical student, will try to move on with her life.
Markoff is accused of killing Brisman on April 14 in an upscale Marriott hotel in Boston. Police believe the 23-year-old woman came to the hotel after Markoff responded to an ad for massage services she posted on Craigslist.org. Markoff is also charged in connection with the April 10 robbery of
Trisha Leffler, 29, at another hotel in Boston.

Scandalmongering is not nice.
Hi Joleen K - you radiate light and love. I hope it returns to you with compounded interest.
Joleen
I echo your sentiments. It’s going to take a while for her to recover.
Absolutely right, DeBurca. I know I’d want to know what tipoffs I missed while I was with him, if it was denial, pressure to marry a man with a good future ahead, or whatever.
While she may have a difficult time trusting in the future, at least she will have heightened awareness. For now I hope she gets the therapy and focuses 100% on her studies. Who knows? Maybe she’ll become a psychiatrist.
What creeps me out is the hollowed out Gray’s Anatomy. I have a feeling that anytime I’m in someone’s personal library that I am able to resist the urge to check out all the books to make sure none contains a gun.
My heart really does go out to Megan McAllister, her parents, his parents and every one who has been victimized by this extraordinary event. In the end it is more proof that what one does "in the dark" is bound to come up in the light. I hope that someone will be able to find out WHAT motivated him to turn his life into a complete shambles and to bring such disgrace on his family and everyone who ever loved him.
I’m one of those who believe the abyss is but a step away. He learned quickly to hunt far from home and maintain appearances.
We women do it all the time. Gloss over hints of something not being right not matter how serious or ignore it and move on. Me? I learned my lesson. My daught for a week mentioned a boy had been stalking her at school. He’d run behind her, punch her and run. She told a teacher and got blown off. Oh he just likes you they told her. On Friday she came home and asked for tylenol for her headache. She never had headaches. I asked what happened and she burst into tears. She took a different route to her locker alone. He ran by her swinging a plastic bag with his school locker lock and hit her head. She had a knot on her head bigger than Rhianna’s.
I should have dealt with the violent stalking ASAP but it’s just Middle School kids, right? I should have seen she was afraid.
Megan may have seen the underwear but wrote it off as a funny fetish, harmless enough. Duct tape? Don’t we all know by now the contents of the serial killers tool box.
