Bristol Palin Dumps Levi Johnston, Baby's 'White Trash' Daddy

© AP
New mother Bristol Palin dumped the father of her baby, Levi Johnston, and called his family "white trash." The tabloid Star magazine reports Palin, 18, and Johnston, 19, have been struggling since the couple welcomed son Tripp in December. Johnston’s sister, Mercede, says that now Palin isn’t even keen on having him visit their baby:
"Levi tries to visit Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible. She tells him he can’t take the baby to our house because she doesn’t want him around ‘white trash’!"

Woody: Palin family being what they were meant to be: tabloid trash.
How about Obama appearing in the Enquirer? Did you see it? (My comment about the Enquirer’s story of Obama was removed…. Diamond In The Rough).
Mimi: Pelosi’s daughter had THREE abortions? and affairs with MA Congresssmen?
The libs apparently excuse this behavior. Abortions bring no sense of shame to them… but live babies, my, my, my and tsk, tsk, tsk. What a family of low morals that they should allow a child to be born to an unmarried teenage daughter… especially when abortion would have taken care of the problem and no one would be the wiser.
"Didn’t Bristol know before hand what kind of family she was getting involved in before she got pregnant? "
I love how democrats seem to expect superb reasoning powers, level headedness and even perfection of a 17 year old kid (if she’s a Republican).
"I doubt Sarah will be so keen to parade her kids around the next time if she has a next time."
I hate to tell you this, but these are not the dark days of fear and misogyny where we closet away, in shame and disgrace, unwed mothers. Amazing that your party professes to be the progressive one, and yet you and yours show exactly the opposite attitude (but not when courting the votes of the women you obviously disdain, of course).
"The question is very simple why didn’t she know his family were white trash before getting pregnant by him, don’t you get to know the family before you get that involved in a relationship?"
Since when are love struck kids known for their clear headed reasoning?! 17 year olds are not renowned for their judgement, especially when it comes to people of the opposite sex… There is no reason whatever to hold this girl to any higher standard of intelligence or intuition than the average teenager; and, by those standards, she has done nothing very outrageous.
"it’s about Sarah preaching one thing to millions and her own daughter ending up pregnant at the same time Sarah is preaching abstinence."
Again, children are not mere extensions of a parent. A parent can do their best to frame the child’s ideas and beliefs, but the child makes his or her own choices. You can no more hold Sarah Palin responsible for Bristol’s pregnancy (or hold her to be a hypocrite because her daughter behaved in a manner that she, the mother, disapproved of) than you could hold any parent responsible for the actions of his or her child. For this reason, it is the person, not his or her parent, that is tried when a crime is committed; it is the person, not his or her parent, that is lauded when a great work or discovery is made; it is, in short, the person, not the parent, who is held accountable for his or her own life. The same goes for Sarah Palin, no matter how much you like or dislike her. Her children’s choices are not her own, nor should she be judged for or by them.
Family values are very important. However, things don’t always work out the way you’ve planned them. We live and we learn. Bristol has zero to do with the platform that Palin will or will not run on.
Bristol will not join the ranks of the welfare mothers…she has two parents and a loving family to fall back on. She won’t cost the state a dime.
If one of my daughters got pregnant and decided not to get married, you can bet your bottom dollar I would be proud to take them anywhere. It is so obvious that you do not have children, caj p. You are clueless on this subject. Hopelessly.
And, one more thing….of course Bristol wasn’t thinking about Levi’s family when she got pregnant. What 17 year old does?
We know all about not keeping campaign promises! Obama promised to put away partisanship and seek political consensus. Since he has been in office he has been highly partisan pursuing a far left agenda.
All parents would like to believe their hormonal teenagers would practice "abstinence" so that they don’t get themselves in a situation like many young people find themselves in. Palin call still preach "abstinence" if that is what she believes is the right path. However, her daughter, Bristol, obviously doesn’t hold those same beliefs. She is her own person with her own beliefs separate from her mother and father’s beliefs.
I do like Sarah Palin. If I feel she is wrong on an issue, I’ll be the first to admit it.
caj p, you are awestruck with Michelle and Barack Obama. You shed your natural skin everytime someone says a disparaging remark about them. They can do no wrong in your eyes. I understand. I get it that but you are way off base with this teenager’s pregnancy and her choice to walk away from Levi. This has absolutely nothing to do with Sarah Palin. Bristol is exercising her power to think for herself.
