Does Joan Ganz Cooney Believe That Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus?

Joan Ganz Cooney
I’m not sure I believe that. All men aren’t alike and all women aren’t alike. People are forever surprising me with their open-mindedness and unexpected positions on questions and issues. Individuals (maybe not whole groups) have changed and many times it’s for the better.

I’m with you, Joan. I know it’s more entertaining and fun to throw out various generalities about men and women and the resulting differences, but as you stated, all men and all women are different.  I know there are differences between the sexes, but for every rule, there are plenty of exceptions (my husband and me included).

Sex, race, religion, political beliefs… I try my best to avoid the perpetuation of stereotypes and take each individual on their own merits.

Of course men and women are different, and thank goodness for that. If everyone saw everything the same way, we all would have run over a cliff centuries ago, from sheer boredom. Now, we all know woman are superior in every way but physical strength, and I like it like that. If you have a problem with men remember who raised them. Men and women are wired differently, and think differently. We can come to the same result for different reasons. It’s probably the reason we all still exist. Between the two very different brains, we can take care of most things that arise. The problems start when one group mistakenly begins to think they are the brains behind everything. There is a biological reason why we are different, leave it alone, and just make sure men don’t mistake physical strength for superior minds, it ain’t happening Bud.
