I have spent much of my life in beautiful places — very much by design — but I read once that the lust of first love and romance lasts at the very longest for 18 months and that is a rare blessing. After that, lust evolves into a different emotion or flits out the window. So even if you are in a delicious, romantic place, if the lust doesn’t last, it doesn’t last. I think you stand a better chance of a romantic vacation and of keeping the lust alive in Italy. They are so enthusiastic.
