Tiffany Toribio, 23, Suffocated Son, Brought Back to Life, Then Killed Again
There are no words to describe this horror, but we’ll try: 23-year old Tiffany Toribio from Albuquerque, New Mexico allegedly suffocated her 3 year old son Ty last week. Then, after having second thoughts, performed CPR to bring him back to life. But, as the boy regained consciousness, decided to go through with the dastardly deed, authorities in New Mexico claim.
CNN reports that Toribio confessed after her arrest this week. Police chief Ray Schultz, who remarked: "She placed her hand over her son’s mouth and nose and suffocated him. She had second thoughts about what she did. She performed CPR on her son, brought him back to life and then decided to go forward with that original act she had started to commit."
Schultz goes on to explain that Toribio told him she took her son’s life because "she did not want him to grow up with no one caring about him, the same way that she had grown up where nobody had cared about her." After taking his life, Toribio apparently buried him at a local playground.
Just awful…

Wowowow has done it again - stop it, please. Certainly, there are more valuable discussions than another murder.
I would have to agree, do these articles always have to end up here? I have a 3 year old daughter and there is noway I could snuff her life out…I am terrified every day I have to drive with her in the car of others and how quickly accidents happen…to harm them on purpose, just can’t put my brain around it. If she didnt want him growing up not cared for then she should have never had him (safe sex) or given him up for adoption.
wowowow should find the full article. the 23 year old’s parents kicked her and the kid out because they didnt like the way she was treating her child……. um.. does that make any sense? ‘we dont like the way you are treating your son so we are going to put you AND your son on the streets’ me thinks the grandparents raised a heartless daughter and in turn she did a heartless act. She should answer for her crime, but the grandparents should also look at themselves.
I had to do some research, too, as I wanted to know WHY she killed him. I probably read a dozen newspaper accounts, most of which were identical. I couldn’t find anything about her and the boy being kicked out of her parents’ home, but I did read a number of references to friends and family saying that she did not demonstrate a normal mother/child bond.
Offhand I’d surmise that the grandparents didn’t show much bonding with children. I’m sure more will come out about this story.
re There are no words to describe this horror,
Come on, Wowowow - the word is "split-personality."
Mental health in the US is an oxymoron. People who are not cared for end up sicker! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist, nor a cellular biology PhD to figure that out.
