Richard Gere was born August 31, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA. A converted Buddhist and the former husband of supermodel Cindy Crawford, Gere's biggest hit was "Pretty Woman" (1990) with Julia Roberts, and the two rejoined for 1999's "Runaway Bride." We’re not sure who we’d rather be, the factory worker who is carried off the job by Gere at the end of "An Officer and a Gentleman"(1982), or the princess (hooker) who is “rescued from the top of the tower” by him at the end of "Pretty Woman" (1990).
