Candice Bergen's Most Spectacular Beauties List

Candice Bergen
I remember Anne Bancroft was one of the most spectacular beauties. Gray hair. No face work. Drop-dead gorgeous. Nigella Lawson, whom I just had dinner with, is a knockout. My old friend Ali MacGraw is one of the all-time great-looking women. Diane Sawyer is – even after years of getting up at 3:30 AM and getting no sleep – simply stunning. Go figure. And women today are beautiful into their 70s. Jane Fonda looks INSANELY great. Gloria Steinem. I don’t even count the young ones. But truly, chicks rule.

I completely agree! Jane Fonda is absolutely stunningly gorgeous, and Diane Sawyer is beyond radiant. Both of them look about 20 years younger than their actual age.

Anne Bancroft was Mrs. Robinson for a reason;)

Candice, you are incredibly attractive, too! I’m 100% positive Denny Crane agrees with me on that one:D

I agree with everyone who’s posted so far but I must add the truly magnificent and elegant Fanny Ardant. I had occasion to meet Ava Gardner many years ago and without makeup, in a simple tweed skirt and cashmere sweater she was extraordinary. I believe Elizabeth Taylor called her the most beautiful woman in the world.  But Fanny, at 60, tops everyone.

Don’t even get me started on Denny and Shirley. I can’t believe we never saw anything happen between them. Actually, I guess I’m ok with that but I so desperatly wanted to see Shirley with Alan. Candice, Your my fave actress ever. Please don’t stay "out of work" for to much longer. We all want to see you again on the screen. Xx

It’s hard to get past the beauties of the ages…..they are/were beyond compare.  Elizabeth Taylor, first & foremost.  Ava Gardner, Hedy Lamarr, Cyd Charisse,  Today it’s hard to say…Angelina Jolie is the obvious one…I can’t think of anyone these days who  stops the world on it’s axis…like they used to do..

Aishwarya Rai Bachshan, although I have not seen her in person. She is a beauty in the classic 40s and 50s sense.

I agree with you, Woody. You could have added Julie Newmar and Rita Hayworth, too. One thing is obvious. You can never ask women to judge the super-beauties.

Anne Hathaway.

I agree. Ms. Bergen is definitely on the list, even though the stipulation was "we have laid eyes on in person." I am so glad you mentioned Anne Bancroft.  She was gorgeous, wasn’t she?

Candice, As a 67 yr old, I agree with all your choices.. plastic surgery isn’t the answer.. it is living the best life you can.  You have been a wonderful example of using your gifts and living the best life you can.. Money isn’t the answer either..  it is truly enjoying being alive…

keep going, girl!!!!!!!

The most beautiful woman that I have had the privledge to meet in my opinion is Jane Seymour. Her cheek bones give her a clasic beauty. IMO
