Virtual Executive Intern Program | 03/27/2009 5:00 am
Want to Be a wowOwow Virtual Executive Intern? Here's How

wowOwow Web Editor
Allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is Randi, the as-described-on-TV "young, up-and-coming web editor" at wowOwow.com who works with our small cadre of 40-plus-year-old, talented Executive Interns to help them learn the workings of posting on the Internet.
As you can imagine, I’m learning as much from these tremendously experienced executives as I’m teaching them.
Our main goal with this ThinkUp program is to promote an idea that could inspire others willing to share a new career skill with some of the many who are seeking work amid the economic downturn. It’s just the first of what will be an entire content section on wowOwow under ThinkUp.
But, additionally, since news of our Executive Intern Program hit the press (LA Times, "The Today Show," NY1 and Fox News), we have received e-mails from many readers eager to join the wOw Executive Intern Program. While our offices can’t possibly accommodate you all, we’ve created something we’re calling the wowOwow Virtual Executive Intern Program — a way to more broadly open up our intern ranks while helping those interested learn a new skill.
As a wowOwow virtual intern, our hope is that you will learn the cutting-edge social networking skills that are so valuable today, regardless of the stage — or state — of your career. Whether you’re a small-time entrepreneur, a mother or a recently pink-slipped exec, our goal is to give our virtual executive interns a valuable, marketable new skill they can use in their real-life career. Whether you’re a massage therapist seeking to find new clients, or a senior marketing executive looking to return to the work world, social networking tools can be an important new skill to understand.
So, e-mail thinkup@wowOwow.com if you are interested in learning more. Include a resume if you have one, too.
Thanks in advance.

Applause to WOW from all of us who have had our worlds opened - and our friends multiply - with the opportunities you have given us over this past year. You have found us go-getters that consider that age is only a number, and our quest for knowledge and discussion with other intelligent women often gives us direction and spurs us on in directions would would not have dreamed of.
As our larger world has floundered, the WOW staff has come up with the best idea I have run across in its Executive Intern program. Yes, so many of us would love to be part of WOW close up - as what more exciting women are in that office. But . . for your space limits and our own lives, the Virtual Intern program is genius.
We are women of experience, but the world we live in has been so fast moving that there is no way we can keep up with the advances that seem to multiply almost daily. Most of us are no longer tethered to the past, admit we don’t know everything (well, almost everything, but …)and want to learn. So I believe you have a ready built-in audience who have already dipped their toes into the virtual world in a smaller way successfully. We find we ARE fast on our feet and our brains are functioning quite well, thank you, and so when your plans come into fruition and ready to take off —- well, so are we!!
Hi Randi, Love what you are doing at WOW and wish you the best of luck with this new program.
