Cokie Roberts: 'Hillary Is Negotiating Her Withdrawal'

wild heather: “I think this bears repeating: …” Indeed it does. An unbeatable ticket. A strong Democratic Party. A careful transition from old politics to new. Let Obama have center stage, because this is what it’s all about for him. Let Hillary dig into the policy. It is a shame to relegate someone who is as energetic and bright and seasoned as Hillary to the back pages of history as an ‘also ran’.

Everything I Hate About Myself I See in Hillary, by Judy Bachrach

Hit the enter key too fast. First sentence should read: … Democratic Party seem to ignore is that many who vote for Hillary are voting against Obama. Sorry about that.

What too many elders in the Democratic Party seem to not ignore is that many who vote for Hillary are voting against Obama. We all know Hillary’s past and foibles and all the rest. We simply feel she, of the three, would make a better president. Nothing to do with personal projections or lost loves. More to do with survival. It is easier to not vote for Obama now than have to try to impeach him two years from now.

To M. Fulton: Right on !! How can someone belittle Hillary’s candidacy with a comparison to their hapless sex life. I think I can understand why the guy moved on. Or are we to take from this essay that Obama is a twit and that we should all just turn our backs to what’s happening? Obama will never get my vote.

Did Sen. Obama clinch the Democratic nomination last night?

Mose: “I lost respect for Caroline Kennedy when she endorsed Obama at a crucial moment in the primaries. Ted Kennedy’s one thing, but Caroline?” I’m from Massachusetts and when I think of all the times the women here ‘forgave’ Teddy (for Chappaquidick and the long years of debauchery) and gave him the vote that kept him in the Senate only to watch him stab Hillary in the back — well, that is one Democrat I’ll never vote for again. Incidentally, Massachusetts went for Hillary 56% to 41% on Super Tuesday. “And then others declaring their superdelegate allegiance at other crucial moments in the process. Sounds like a political machine to me.” It is. Obama is probably the best politician around since Karl Rove. “Thank you, Hillary, for daring to fight on.” Indeed.

Did Sen. Obama clinch the Democratic nomination last night?

Star: We’ll be fortunate if it’s a blank page. It could be an Obama with an agenda no one has even imagined yet. As for Hillary, she is on the ropes, that’s for sure. I wonder what harm there is if the primary runs its course — four more weeks. For those who don’t like the game, tune out. I’ve pretty much decided if Obama is the nominee, my vote will go to Nader or McCain, because there’s no way in hell I’ll vote for something as scary as Obama. Especially Obama with a Democrat majority in Congress.

Are women harder on each other than they are on men?

Yes. And men foster it by encouraging women to compete for the prize (them) based on looks above all else. Maybe it is just human nature, but men are tough on one another, also. But they’ll band together against a woman. Generally, women do not do that (show solidarity against a man). That being said, nothing is universal.

All of the above.

Marlo Thomas: The Media Steals Our Chances of a Fair Election

We still have PBS and C-Span, but the consumer has to sift through a lot of opinions to find out what’s really going on — and even then…. As for the media stealing our chances of a fair election, I agree 100% with Marlo. The slant has been horrendous. I’ve never seen so many ugly photos of Hillary as the screaming, bleary-eyed hag. Ah, but payback is sweet. The women of the land caught on early. Early enough? We can only hope.

wOw's Views on the News: A Break from the Gas Tax?

The Gas Tax proposal is silly, but no harm done. Hillary is right to say it will help the long-haul truck driver, or someone with a fleet of vehicles on the road, but for many, many of us the savings won’t buy a pack of gum. I voted for Hillary in February and will again in November, but I think she can do better than this.

wOw's Views on the News: Is Rev. Wright Leading to the Demise of the Obama Campaign?

If Rev. Wright would fade away, we would all soon forget about him. But, Jeremiah Wright doesn’t want this to happen. Is he hurting Obama? Yes he is. Does Wright care? Apparently not. Wright wants to keep that pot boiling because it wouldn’t be nearly as much fun if we all got along.

How do you feel about Senator Clinton's win in Pennsylvania?

JACKIE KELLER - “…by staying in the primary battle, she’s helping the republicans set the stage to win in the general election.” … I sincerely hope so. If the choice in November is McCain/Obama, we are better off with Nader.

How do you feel about Senator Clinton's win in Pennsylvania?

And don’t forget, ariadne, the great unwashed also elected Franklin Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln and all the others including the Bushes.

How do you feel about Senator Clinton's win in Pennsylvania?

ariadne theseus: … “the great unwashed, the teeming masses, the reasons the founding fathers created a republic and not a democracy. “if this sounds elitest… so be it. this is the type of voter that got us george bush. this, in the main, is his fundamentalist base.” … UGLY !! Does it get much uglier than this !! Thank God the elitists are in the minority.

How do you feel about Senator Clinton's win in Pennsylvania?

BHO has peaked, the other side of the hill slopes downward. Get used to it. Hillary is the sensible choice for ‘08, and there appears to be many sensible people in Pennsylvania… and Ohio… and California, etc. etc. etc.
