Frankly Liz, Marvin Hamlisch could play chopsticks and I would still pay to go.  I have every confidence that whatever he has dreamt up for "the Informant" will be brilliant.  Hey, look what he did for Streisand’s first comeback concert tour!

Great job Liz.  I only got the chance to spend a little time with Mr. Dunne on a handful of occasions, but you completely captured my impression of that talented soul.  Thanks for sharing your eulogy with those of us who could not attend in person.

The good Texans are known for it :-)  Come on down and visit.  We have lots of jobs in state government and many agencies now hire consultants.  Register at Workintexas.com, but I warn you.  That website is irritating.  Best of luck to you and for what it’s worth I lived in Dallas in the early 80’s and hated it.  (The city anyway, I did meet some nice people I am still friendly with).

Well said, and whoever said this thing has its origins in Austin is not correct.  It started in East and far North Texas.  They just come down to Austin to protest at the Capitol and get on the television.  The local television stations (not Fox of course) always seem to find the most ignorant, wildly dressed, crazy eyed fools to interview.  If it wasn’t so sad, it really would be laughable.

Marjorie, I don’t seem to ever agree with you, but I think people make a lot of nasty, personal remarks to you that are not appropriate in a discussion forum.  You are wrong about "the Dems will find something, or make it up if they don’t".  I have the honor to serve on a non-profit board with Mrs. Bush.  I am also a staunch democrat as are many of my friends.  I have never heard an unkind word said about Mrs. Bush.  That includes the yellowest dogs I count as friends or acquaintances.  Her work on literacy, national parks, and women’s rights in Afghanistan are all things lauded.  Don’t be paranoid and don’t lump everyone into a single category.  And keep your guard up  :-)  Count

You were instrumental in getting "The Lady and her Music" released on tape and CD.  Could you work your magic again and get a DVD of the concert released?  I remember watching that magnificent concert on television back in the ’80s.  I seem to think that it was on PBS.  Would you try and get us the video since you were successful in getting us the audio?  Please.  Thanks much Liz, you are missed here in Austin!

Carrie Fisher’s new book:  Wishful Drinking.  I really, really want an hour with her. I think she and I could be great friends.  I can’t read it in bed anymore because I keep waking my partner up laughing so hard.  Get this book!

What do you think of Rihanna's rumored return to alleged abuser Chris Brown?

I just can’t wrap my head around both committing physical/mental violence or returning to the source.  I just can’t see a "happy" ending to this.  I realize we don’t know everything, but the fact is the man beat the hell out of that young girl.  Tina….step in. 

Michelle Obama's mother now lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Would you welcome a parent or in-law to live with you?

I hope like hell my partner’s mother moves in with us if/when his father passes on. She is from Japan and a hoot. It was a little dicey at first, but now she calls me “her handsome son-in-law”.
