You know why God made babies - animal and human so beautiful…so we wouldn’t kill them! They are beautiful, but where are the red and yellow, brown and black tones?

I voted other for the same reason. We should all be considerate of each other, gender shouldn’t have anything to do with it.

It depends on what they decide is the cause. We are having a lot of this type of thing due to all the poisons in our air, soil and water. But I’ll eat the ones I’m growing and buy ones they assure us are safe [that’s probably folly!]

Jacquie, I also was inspired by this book. He is an amazing person to accomplish all that he has and with putting his life on hold to do so in many cases. I am afraid your post is loss in the jumble here. Threads need to stay together, but !!! Anyway, I hope others will read this book [I bought copies for all my friends!] and contribute to this great cause too.

I have two sons, both gay. When my eldest told me he was gay -I cried after he left because of how society would treat this wonderful, gentle man. But after over 10 years, he manages to live a life reasonably free of those who are harsh to gays [or maybe he has never mentioned it to me.] My fears for both my sons are not completely erased but I enjoy them for who they are … loving, talented men with great humor and love for mankind. As for scripture, you can prove anything by scripture. I am a minister’s wife and have read it all my adult life. Every scripture is interpreted by someone. I choose to interpret for myself. “… love your neighbor as yourself.” “…The greatest of these is love.”

I never remember my mother telling me how “a lady” acts but there were Candice’s rules at my home too. I remember my freshman year in college there were “lady lessons” that freshman girls had to attend - just in case your mother didn’t do her “job”! The sad thing is I remember wanted to be a “lady” when I was a young woman - about the age of those freshman lectures! Then along came the 60’s! Yes!!! Women’s lib!

Recessions are “normal” in our economy.

I read in the The World With Us by Alan Weisman that Monsanto has made corn that can be sprayed with Roundup and it doesn’t kill the corn! I wonder if this is safe for us to consume which we are probably doing. I agree it is distribution! Food is used as a weapon in many countries to destroy some of the population that isn’t acceptable. We could probably feed the world if there was not so much politics involved. Birth control is also vital.

Wow! I loved the dialog although he would have been interrupted in real life. I too do not believe in the death penalty. It is never enough for the family of the victim and the inequality of the application is unjust.

When my children were small we lived in a tiny town who was fortunate enough to have a peditrician. Our phone number was just one number different from his. We would sometimes get his calls in the middle of the night and always gave his number to the callers; but we once told him we just told them to take to asprin and call back in the morning. He gave us a startled look and then realized we were joking! I love the commercial because it is funny! Not realistic at all, but funny!

I always do a lot of thinking about what to do. I agreee that you have to then become the doer. If we wait on someone else to put our ideas and solutions into action, nothing ever gets done.

Yes, they borrowed it. What are we doing?! I pray our children and grandchildren will forgive us.

Amen! And why oh why can’t someone in government leadership say that? It is a mystery to me. The American people will try to do what is necessary if they are just asked!

I too experience this and wonder at myself. I am not a sentimental person as my daughter often bemoans, but when the children at my grandson’s school all sing at their Friday sing my eyes fill with tears. I’m not sure if it is just getting older [and maybe more sentimental], but I like it.
