I totally relate to her struggle, I have had the same problem off and on for years - however I just don’t have access to personal 24/7 trainers, in-house chefs and unlimited $ to go up and down in sizes of gorgeous clothes. I still say “good for her” - at least she is honest about her battle!

NOW we’re really talking about important stuff!!! Useful, informative, helpful - and way more fun to implement than Sarah-bashing. (Although that did help release pent-up stress!!)

I could truly live the rest of my life (happily I might add) without hearing about Lindsey, Britney OR Paris!!! And I do love reading Liz and hearing “news” etc but these 3 have definitely worn out their “welcome” as far as I’m concerned!!

ME TOO!!! I’m all for her going back to Alaska and working her “hockey-mom-Joe-6-pack” magic (plus her Nieman Marcus wardrobe) on the good citizens there.

Ms. Dee - Perfectly, beautifully, intelligently and truthfully stated!! Sheesh indeed! Thank you for stating it even better than I could - and I’m deeply committed to the belief that God made us all to celebrate love in whatever form it comes to us!!

I certainly don’t qualify as an expert (once is not enough!) and I was not “internet dating” - with a .com service etc - just in a chat room and saw his curious “handle”. We started IMing, then phoning and this went on for six weeks before I agreed to meet him (me - the scaredly cat because I KNEW our age difference). We met - danced to Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable for the first dance - he looked into my eyes - and I knew instantly that I never wanted him to stop. That was slmost 7 years ago and even though I had been through with men before we met - the old adage that “love comes when you’re not looking for it” has certainly been true in my case. (Haven’t been in a chat room since!!!!!)

I feel soooo strongly about this issue! Who is being hurt by allowing people to be committed to one another in a loving relationship?? I doubt if these bigots who are fighting this have ever known a gay person personally - their fears are so horribly misguided and unfounded!! My adorable son and his partner have been together almost 16 years and although they have taken what legal steps available to them through power of attorney etc. - they fact that they still do not enjoy all the privileges that ALL people in the US should be allowed to have is a very sad commentary and blight on our nation’s fairness and compassion meter!! This next remark is tacky - but how I feel: I would rather have a gay couple living next to me in wedded bliss than Sarah Palin and her bigoted views!! If not wedded - at least with civil union rights!

Carol - I wasn’t going to get in on this question - just was grateful that so many of us have the same idea about spending out time BUT - you got me with the cat/laundry illustration. Just yesterday - I piled a load of freshly dried warm clothes on the bed and of course got distracted with something else (WoW probably!) - came back to find both Miss Pounce and Mr Ponder totally buried in sweet warmness -almost not even visible. Warm clothes and happy kitties - of course I couldn’t fold them then - they were serving a purpose - so off I went to some other endeavor! Getting sidetracked is my favorite form of procrastination I’m thinking!

You are absolutely right - I must have had brain fade or something - “amicable divorce: is the true oxymoron!!!

The worst thing was re-gaining most of the weight it had taken me 5 years to get off - when I moved to AZ 7 yrs ago - THEN - the best thing was to fall in love with someone who loves me no matter what size I am - and he saw me at my smallest 7 yrs ago and has loved me through all the fluctuations and then some! (The really worst thing is being afraid of McPalin being our next prez!!)

CA - I’m with you on the never marrying again - but one question - isn’t the quote “amicable prenup” an oxymoron??

Emcye - I only wish your letter/posting could be in every major newspaper, TV station, radio outlet and any other news media throughout all 50 states!! You were spot-on as the British like to say - and I could not agree with you more. Very scary time out there and those of us who think like you do have GOT to do all we can to minimize the McCain/Palin policies/tactics so that this country can get a chance to get back on track!

I can relate there too - my sweetie calls them “stick-women” and threatens me with dire consequences if I ever try to look like that!! Not that there’s a chance in Hell that would happen! He likes me to exercise because he knows I love it and I love being healthy - but it’s for that reason (and not having to buy new fatter clothes) and not to become a stick-woman! And he’s 20 yrs younger so I feel even more blessed - although we certainly never notice the age difference!

J B - I can SOOO relate! On our first “sleepover” I was wearing a Diamondbacks T-shirt and when I crawled out of bed to sort of repair the face, hair etc - he looked at me and said “Good morning beautiful” - meant it and has been saying it every morning since for the past 7 years! You’re right - it is THE single most freeing thing in my life, to be loved from the inside out!
