Isn’t that odd, I feel MORE safe now with our new President’s policies than with the Bush-Cheney (or rather the Cheney-Bush) Administration.

I don’t think it was about our safety and security that Bush 2nd, went after Iraq and Saddam Hussein.  It may have been a multitude of other reasons, revenge over comments made by Hussein threatening his father, Bush the 1st, Oil exploitation as stated by Greenspan (we wanted the rights to their oil), money that could be made by Halliburton if we went to war, and ad infinitum.

Who has profited from this war? Not the U.S., not Great Britian nor any of our other allies who have gone shoulder to shoulder with us.  Bush and his cabinet have swung a bat at the hornets nest and run off to let the rest of the world deal with the angry hornets.  Hussein was just a pompous big mouth making threats and grandiose claims.  We knew where our enemy came from and it wasn’t Iraq, but the enemy certainly swarmed into that country after we invaded it.  That act did not make our country more secure and I lay that consequence at the feet of the Bush Administration. 

So, I’m not the only one who’s noticed John Boehner changing colors.  What’s he doing, tanning bed sessions?  i wondered whether he’s gearing up to run for President on the next Republican ticket, he’s been in front of the cameras so often lately. Leave it to the Puppet-master, Cheney to tout Lush Rembaugh and to diss Colin Powell, one of the few honorable Republicans  left in their party.  I say let them push Lush to the front and see where it gets them.  The words everyone is objecting to came from the comedienne’s mouth, not the President.  Not my choice of words, but then I don’t write for her and I don’t think the President does either.  What other countries did we use to condemn for not having freedom of speech, whether you agreed with it or not?  Are we becoming more like that, not only condemning what people say but anyone around them for what they say, as if they are responsible, too?  If we had a puppet President like the last one, then we might be able to blame someone else.  Rove and Cheney definitely cotrolled Bush. I watched bits of the dinner, but it became a boring celebrity watch and I lost interest.  If the election were today, knowing what I know and seeing the past few months, I would still vote for Obama with no regrets.

There are so many bad taste commercials on TV that need to be removed permanently.  These are topics that patients should be discussing with their Doctors and that’s just the tip of the iceberg as far as commercials go. 

One of my pet peeves, TV commercials.  Do you ever count how many there are in a break on a program?  I’ve counted as many as 13 at a time and have you noticed the volume goes up so loud for the commercials, you’re constantly having to readjust your volume between the commercials and the program?  How much time is wasted on commercials versus the actual program?  That commercial ratio is going up, too.  We pay Cable TV for this?  They say their hands are tied, but I find I watch less and less TV because of it and I use my remote to click to mute everytime each a commercial comes on.  I resent their intrusion.  We should have some choices in the matter.  If anyone ever makes a component to block all commercials on TV, they could make a fortune.

Yes, I know there are some cute commercials like the skateboarding bulldog named Charley and the money with the Geico eyes that scares a woman sitting her groceries down on the kitchen counter, but neither of them will cause me to buy their products, if it wasn’t something I had already purchased on my own without their temptations, the commercials wouldn’t add to the chance that I would buy.

It’s their business and their choice/decision as to how and where their marriage goes from here.  It’s a humiliating experience for a wife to deal with and she has courage to deal with it publicly coupled with her health problems and children to raise.

As MK P said and I have been there too, the loneliest I have ever been, is living with a cheating husband.  The Hunter female (aptly named) is quoted as not wanting a DNA test to prove the paternity of the child and there’s probably a real good reason for that.  That’s not letting John Edwards off the hook-he did a terrible hurtful thing to his wife and family, but then, the alley cat Hunter had probably done this sort of thing before.  There are many women like her.

Boy, was I wrong.  It is David Ogden Stiers.  I googled him and saw my mistake.  He sure doesn’t look like the actor I remembered, but then we all change as the years go by.  I stand corrected.  Do I care if he’s gay?  Nooo,  that’s a personal thing that doesn’t affect him as an actor or a human and certainly doesn’t affect me., so what?  If he’s happoer having come out, that’s his right.
