Hi Sandy B….you have posted the plain irrefutable truth.  (Although I credit Darth Cheney with creating the mess as well.)

I have been reading and/or speed scrolling the Bush-defender/Obama-basher commentary, I decided to stop here and re-post my analogy of our current "country kitchen:"

A fine brave soul wanted to rescue a restaurant so he took on the job of chef.  When he arrived in the kitchen he found a canister of bat guano, a shaker of bitters, and several very rotten eggs.  Suddenly the right-eous minority stock owners of the restaurant began foaming at the mouth because the new chef couldn’t whip up an apple pie without restocking the larder.

Is it any wonder they refuse to acknowledge the truth about the canister of bat guano that poisoned our nation for eight long miserable dangerous destructive years?  Instead they, our fellow Americans, continue their efforts to sabotage the one who is trying to repair the damage.  Sad and bewildering.   

Hi Phyllis, always happy when you step in to weave some clear vision into a thread.  What a clique, these funny girls.  Liz and her "Obama Bash-a-thon" Peek-ettes.  Always pronouncing their wishful little "buyer’s remorse" myth.  Could that steady diet of sour grapes be causing these delusions as well as the negative spew used to deliver them?   

I agree with you that our President has "his problems…."  But being "manipulated" is just today’s version of wishful myth-spinning from the sour right.  I am SO humbly grateful to have an intelligent ADULT at the helm of this country.  Someone who has the brains to listen, to act responsibly, someone who has the welfare of the American people as his agenda.  Someone who has caused the rest of the world to respect us again.  And as a Veteran’s widow, I am especially grateful to see an abundance of caution in the area of troop deployment.   

Now I will "submit" and stand by to be amused as someone attempts to spin my comment into "buyer’s remorse."

I so agree with Georgia and macwoof.  Your thoughtful post resonated with me as well.  (evidently some were threatened by your logic, but I see their (shall we be polite and say) ungracious little "exceptions" have disappeared….THANKS WOW!)

As I read your thoughts, I was in particular agreement with your take on the way the right is carping on our President’s accomplishments to date.  (Nice to know that I am not the only one who finds it LUDICROUS when they can’t settle on a party line that isn’t in conflict…."He hasn’t done ANYTHING!" vs  "He is taking on TOO MUCH!")

I do watch O’Reilly sometimes, he makes some good points from time to time, and he is VERY entertaining.  I even bought his latest book as a gift to one of my very dear Republican pals.  (You may already know that some of the proceeds from his book go to help our military personnel?)  Win/win!

You not only can be critical, Mrs. H, it is our duty as Americans to call ‘em as we see ‘em!!  In my own opinion though, the right and duty to criticize carries the responsibility to do so based on reality, not just the counter-productive fictional snark that some post here and elsewhere.  Call me Pollyanna, but I believe that WE THE PEOPLE are finding our voices again, and beginning to help make a much-needed difference!  

(I wonder how your little flower girl has grown since those early photos, but I do understand why a parent would be reluctant to post a photo of her child these days.  We will all just have to use our imaginations.  :~}
