My Comments (117 so far…)

Do you listen to your heart?

I have to. I cannot avoid it. Then I take my medicine and lay down a bit and it will shut up and I can breathe so much better. It is not terminal, just chronic. Sigh.

No Atheists Allowed in the Foxhole?

I am constantly amazing by rabid dogs who rant and rave about defending our freedom and then prove they have no tolerance or understanding of what freedom really is.

How do you feel about being left alone for a few days? What do you do with the time?

What do you do with the time” Anything I want! I saved up a bunch of money and took a year off. Some people thought I was out of my mind. Some people reacted in terror at the thought of that free time. How sad. Freedom is a gift and free time is the greatest reward. There is no way to waste unless you just do not appreciate it. I have a car, I have a library book, I live where many, many movies and plays and music happen. And I have enough money to enjoy the and eat out every day of that year and even make a few trips. It was glorious! I wish everyone could be so lucky. I guess it does require a bit of imagination. The thing is, it is very, very hard to go back to work afterward. I will not try that again until I retired - tooo hard to relearn how accept the things we must accept to have a job. Sad.

wOw's Views on the News: Is It Time for Clinton or Obama to Throw In the Towel?

Turn it off. The TV is selling and selling the drama and it can become toxic. The smart candidate will raise above it. Let a convention be a convention for once. So many are yelling “end it, end it, end it”. It started WAY to early. Move the New Hampshire primary to July of 2012 and make all the others follow. Any candidate that starts before June 1 is forever disqualified! Obama is a spoiler? I HOPE SO! This rotten government needs a spoiler to drain it of the awful, awful mess it is in. Then maybe it will heal. Too bad the nation is too stupid to pick Nader. He would have been wonderful.

Olbermann and Matthews Take It on the Chin from Hillary!

I wish the whole shooting match was over, and we actually had a person living at 1600 Pennsylvania who really gave two cents about the real problems facing this country.” Right on, right on. And I wish there was someway to move the New Hampshire primary to June and all of the primaries to follow and shorten this election cycle to six month or less! This extend campaign is as insane as it is painful. But the election industry in making a killing out of torturing the republic.

'wOw Friend' Mary Jane Clark on Her Undying Love for CBS News

I *did* love CBS News. It broke my heart after Walter left. It never was the same and never recovered. A few months ago, my old analog TV died. I decided to quit and get a flat screen digital in a few months but I discovered life with DVD’s and the Net is not bad. I may still get a new large flat screen but I am starting to question if it needs a tuner for ATSC. “What brave new world this is…”

A Blueprint and Outline for Changing the World

It gets so little press these days but controlling reproduction has got to be the first priority. The poplulation bomb is exploding - there are food riots in Haiti, Pakistan and the Phillipines and people are hoarding rice worldwide. Gigadeath is coming if reproduction is not checked. I fear for my grandchildren and pray that Social Security will not be replaced by a Solyent Green program. I cannot find a reason for an optimistic outcome.

Do you insist your medications be brand-name?

Only if my doctor tells there is Real Need for the Brand number. Thankfully, that is rare.

Life in the Little Lane: Edith Ann on Learning

For years, I have known that Edith Ann rocks! Literally, in a big oversized rocker! I love you Lily. Like Scread from “Dregs and Vestages”.

Forty years ago, students shut down Columbia University protesting the Vietnam War. Have you ever marched in a protest?

If you are wondering Who They Can Our Boys To Do Those Things, rent Kubrick’s “Full Metal Jacket”. The first half as to do with boot camp training. The drill instructor in the film was a real retired drill instructor. My friend who recently left the Marines tells me it is still the way it is done.

Forty years ago, students shut down Columbia University protesting the Vietnam War. Have you ever marched in a protest?

Focus, people, focus! Do not allow this troll to hijack another thread! His agenda is clear.

Forty years ago, students shut down Columbia University protesting the Vietnam War. Have you ever marched in a protest?

Yes, I have marched! And people asked me - “do you think you did any good”. My answer is, Hell YES! It is great exercise and it gives me a place to channel my anger, instead of doing harm! And you meet the best people that I have had the pleasure to have known, true patriots. Especially, the veterns against the war (pick any war). No one knowns the insanity of war than they.

It's been 19 years since the protests in Tiananmen Square. What do you think about China today?

What Whoopi said! I will never forget when they were able to get the troop who had been stationed in Tibet to take the place of the nearby troop who refused to fire at their own people and the killing began. I turned off CNN and never paid for it again. Too many butterflies - the souls of the dead crying for freedom.

The Subway: A Peaceful and Pristine Oasis?

George Lukas filmed the chase scene for “THX 1138” there before they put in the rails for the train.

The Subway: A Peaceful and Pristine Oasis?

We like our subway’s clean. But handcuffing children - that’s extreme. Burma Shave
