Sheila Nevins: Why Palin Is a Great Choice

She’s talking like she’s Annie Oakley.” Once again, Senator Clinton is expected to save the day. This seasoned professional was betrayed by her political party, including Speaker Pelosi, those of the African-American community with whom she held hands and marched for various causes over the years, the Kennedy family, Ms. Winfrey and others. Then they asked her to stand up, brush herself off, and unify the party to ensure that the Obama-Biden ticket wins in November. Being the Class Act that she is, she turned the other cheek to work for the good of the whole.

Governor Sarah Palin, 44, Named McCain's Running Mate

Why so much anger from the Obama-Biden supporters? In all probability, this ticket will win the election. There’s ample time between now and November 4th to make up our minds. How exciting the journey will be until then.

Chill, everyone, and cut your gender some slack.

Yes. Perhaps out of that moment of shared joviality, they will become steadfast friends.

Similarly, he said: “…the change we need doesn’t come from Washington. Change comes to Washington.” How appropriate at this juncture.

Well folks, that was an uplifting and settling speech. The venue and set selected (including the columns!) worked out just fine after all. Those little girls are sooo cute! What an attractive family they are.

James, real “Change We Can Believe In” would have been for both parties to forgo their respective conventions and devote those funds to helping the truly needy. Thanks to the internet, cable television, and the print media, we pretty much know all we need or want to know by the time the conventions roll into town. As far as Hurricane Gustav is concerned, let’s pray that it does not wreak havoc, particularly on New Orleans and its environs. If it does, this could be a chance for the current Administration to make a horrific wrong right. If they blow it, it’s over for MacCain.

Julia Reed Asks: Where's Obama in This Convention?

“80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between columns reminiscent of Washington’s Capitol building to accept the party’s nomination for president.”…”Once Obama speaks, confetti will rain down on him and fireworks will be fired off from locations around the stadium wall.” What is this, a coronation? Many in this country have no food, no home, and/or medical care. I’m disillusioned by such a spectacle.

Take that NBC, MSNBC, and CNN. Your daily punching bag hit the ball right out of the park. I kept thinking, “She should be President. How did we ever get to this place.”

I never heard the phrase, “door-belled”, before. Thanks for the chuckle.

Hillary Clinton to Release Delegates to Obama, Some Not Convinced

It was great to see Senator Kennedy last night. Michelle Obama looked beautiful and presented her speech flawlessly. Am I the only one who felt that she focussed more on her brother and father than on her husband? Also, she did not mention her alma maters, which is an important part of a biographical sketch. Ending the program with her family was heartwarming. Unrelated, when will the media stop talking about the Clintons? It’s Senator Obama’s responsibility, and only his responsibility, to win this election.

Barack Obama Selects Senator Joseph Biden As Running Mate

Winery Lifestyle, I must admit, I liked what I heard and saw today in Springfield, Illinois, including the chemistry between Michelle Obama and Jill Biden. If their spouses get along as well, there may be hope for us all.

Barack Obama Selects Senator Joseph Biden As Running Mate

I trust that God has something better in store for Senator Clinton. I first noticed Senator Biden during the Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill hearings. His conduct at the time was fair and balanced; he was a true gentleman. I’m delighted for him personally. I’m not certain how well a seasoned senator, like Senator Biden, will take marching orders from a nouveau President.

Think Again, Obama

Hillary Clinton could clinch the deal for Obama. I’m not certain if the others on the “Short List”, including Biden, could. If it isn’t Hillary, could GORE be the surpise? Perhaps he’s already said NO to the possibility.
