HerTube: Husband Day Care

I agree.. at every mall and every spa! Total togetherness can be over-rated; The email and Her-Tube are great fun.

HerTube: MUTO, a Wall-Painted Animation by BLU

very different! Once again WOW has exposed me to something I would not have found on my own. Thanks!

HerTube: The Dying Swan

As a non “Balletomane” I thank you, Frank, for bringing this to WOW. I can only ditto everybody’s comments. This was something I would not have sought out to see myself and feel lucky to have viewed it….even on teeny tiny her tube one can appreciate the perfection.

North of the Border From Mexico Way!

I could kick myself for missing this exhibit! I was in Philly twice during the time it was showing (visiting my son at Penn and again duirng family visit during Passover holiday) ,but was pressed with other “stuff” to get there. As the saying goes, “opportunity is not a lenghty visitor.” I agree that Hayek’s portrayal of Frida was worthy of winning an oscar.

Introducing a New Feature: wOw Scenes!

I envy the window view! In all my years of professional work, I have never had an office with a window. Oh well. I’m about 8-10 years from retirement, maybe there’s hope yet. I compensate with interesting artwork on the wall.

HerTube: Milk Chocolate

It’s a music internet site that allows you to create your owm “radio station” with the genres you prefer. The songs are either by the original artists or music of that style. I have enjoyed it at work; pandora.com

Do you balance your checkbook?

There are so few things (if any at all) in life that you can control and have it come out just right! I think this is why I derive such satisfaction from balancing my checkbook to the penny.

A Late P.S. On Tina Fey, Woman of the Moment!

I agree with Pam! It’s reassuring and refreshing that I’m not the only klutz with a camera.

Liz Warms Up to Summer Hot Spots!

Could we try this question in some format for other cities WOW readers might be traveling to this summer? I’ll be in Paris (France) at the end of July for the first time since 1972! (single college student in 1972 and this time with my family) I’d love some suggestions on restaurants and some off the beaten track attractions my 19 and 25 y/o “kids” would like. We only have a week.

Why do you live where you do? How rooted are you to that place?

Don’t you just miss the smell of salt air? I live blocks from Lake Michigan which can sometimes look like an ocean…but lacks the salty breeze!

Why do you live where you do? How rooted are you to that place?

Finally another Bostonian! I grew up in an apartment in a part of Boston called Mattapan until my parents bought their first home in Canton when I was 16. I stayed in Boston for college then moved to St. Louis for my husband’s first job and my graduate program. 9 years later we found ourselves in Milwaukee where we have been for 22 years. I also have strong roots in Vermont and would consider most anywhere in New Enlgand more “home” than Wisonsin. Milwaukee was a great place to raise my 2 children, but now that they are out of the house, I’ve been struggling about how much or little this city feels like home to me. I would love to retire, at least part time, to the Berkshires, Vermont or a seaside New England town.

On '60 Minutes:' Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia On and Off the Court

My book club is reading Jeffrey Toobin’s book on the current Supreme Court Justices (I recommend it), so your interview is very timely for me. The section on the Gore/Bush Florida fiasco was painful to read…I kept hoping for another ending!!!!I look forward to watching.

Life in the Little Lane: Edith Ann on Wishing

This got me thinking about how my “blowing out candle birthday” wishes have evolved throughout the years…from wishing for :the latest Barbie doll (came true), my mother to let me wear make-up (did it anyway), that the boy down the stree would “notice me, (never happened..at least at age 14)” that I get an A on my Latin test (sometimes happened), that I get into my top choice University (didn’t happen, but my 2nd choice worked out just fine), that I get offered the job I desired (got it!)…..Now, at age 55, when I blow out birthday candles I just wish for the health/relative happiness for me and my loved ones and that seems sufficient…eveything else is icing on the cake…so to speak

What is the most dangerous thing you have ever done?

I’m with Joan Ganz Cooney…getting into our car with my intoxicated husband early in our marriage was the most dangerous and stupid thing I have done. This stopped (his drinking and driving) as soon as we had babies.

On '60 Minutes:' New Machine to Kill Cancer Without Drugs, Radiation, Surgery or Side Effects

This “invention,” whether it works now or not, is a glimpse into the future of medicine. We are living in a very exciting time! I had my latest mammogram last week and fantasized that in the future, women might be able to put their breasts on their home computer screens and have it read without having to go to a clinic. Much of what cancer patients have to endure today will seem archaic in future.
