Hi Darlin’…ain’t it all the truth! Two things come to mind (at least!)…Helen and Scott Nearing who threw over life in the city in the early last century and were the darlings of the hippies for their books ("Living the Good Life", etc..) had dozens of tips for simple living..one was to only have black or white clothing so that everything always matched…I have amended that to be pretty much all black….But, hey…toothpaste globs are rarely black….. Last summer when I was packing away the winter costumes, I took a good look at my constant choices and thought to myself….good lord…do you really want to go around looking like an Amish lesbian? Oh well…

The other thing was "Necessary Losses" that may be Judith Viorst..I forget…Things that we eventually have to consider giving up…(like those knee highs, etc..!) I miss fancy duds a lot for a lot of reasons…but high heels went by the boards a long time ago…the clincher was putting a heel through a weakened floorboard in my old house…flipped me on my butt…but before that, it was waking up a skunk family on New Year’s Eve with the unusual sound of clacky heels…..When I have to go "out", I usually take a change of shoes and outerwear because it’s almost impossible to dodge the smudgies…

After my mom died, I went through all the little eyeglass cases that were on a cord that she wore around her neck…on her "front"…A few little bits of something resembling linguine in every one! Kleenex, handi-wipettes in every pocket and purse and even tucked into gloves….

Nice to see everybody on this thread…must’ve struck a universal harmonious chord……dribble, dribble y’all! 

Dear C Hardy, I am an infrequent poster here. I find it easier to post "to" someone so the e-mail notice directs me somewhere…where I left off…OK? So this is not really "to" you or "at" you or "because of" you….in spite, despite, to spite or anything….Somewhere in this twisting thread, "lies" were mentioned….fair game at that point…a very simple segue in my book….and, yeah, life in the rearview mirror can be meaningless/irritating..depending on your POV. I believe you assumed "we" are leading from hatred. I don’t do hatred. Period. And I’m not "y’all". What I felt in "the prior" was not even close to hatred. "Despair" was more like it. I’m not dwelling on it. Just thought I’d check in here once in a blue moon….and, sure enough, like the neglected soap opera episodes, the elevator doors open and close….Brianna and Shane are in the same month-old wardrobe, and we still don’t know who fathered Tiffany’s child…Tedious.
