“Her place on the ticket is a tribute to the whole women’s movement.”…… NOT in my opinion….. seems more like a tribute to a failed political strategy. I have listened to most of her interviews and have come to my own conclusion that she is vastly under-educated. She is bright enough to recall sound bites and pander to audiences……but not bright enough to answer questions in any meaningful way. And don’t even get me started on her recent statement of “for reporters or columnists to suggest that it is going negative may constitute an attack that threatens a candidate’s free speech rights under the Constitution” Huh? Her lack of comprehension is staggering.

I have never taken offense to any question posed by saying….. May I ask…. it allows me to graciously answer the question or decline. At this point in time… the question is relevant and critically important.

My husband and I will be at the rally in Chicago….. we were very lucky and received tickets to the event! I am so excited that sleep is impossible at the moment!

As a mother…..my thoughts and concerns are always wrapped around what is best for the child. It is not in the childs best interest to have a mother for such a short time. I so agree with what most of what has been commented on so far. Maggie D….. what a wonderful person you are to have adopted your great-grandsons. I hope you have a good support system in place to help you! Your decision is completely different than choosing to become pregnant at 70. Blessing to you for what you have taken on!

A woman’s power hair color is the shade she looks her very best in! One color does not always fit all.

My favorite gift from a trip….. coconut macaroons and potato rolls from my favorite childhood bakery in Texas. Ended up sharing them with hungry seat-mates on a flight that ended up stuck in a Chicago blizzard.

Carol… I was just wondering the same thing. I do not personally know anyone that has grey hair that looks that wonderful……my friends greys are muddy and mixed with white wirey hairs that have minds of thier own. Our power colors are the shades that look best on each one of us individually.

I would definitely rather be cold…. I can add layers. At my age…I am not going to strip down to get cooler! Good for you Maggi….. you can have all of my hot flashes! I am so looking forward to them stopping….as is my husband who would love to turn the airconditioning back up. He keeps mumblings comments about meat lockers…..

Years ago….do not any longer remember exactly when….. I travelled next to a woman who seemed to really need to talk. (I have always been of the opinion to let those who want solitude be & those that need to talk…much can be learned this way) She had just left her parent’s home and was heading back to her hometown in Texas, which had recently been levelled by a tornado. Her family and her had survived the tornado but had lost everything…..she had then travelled to help sick parents. She was tired and needed to “vent” to a safe person. By the end of the flight….. she was relaxed and laughing and I was in awe of her strength and strong faith. I had hoped for an in-flight nap…..but instead gained so much more! I have never kept in contact with any of those I have met on numerous flights….but I do treasure the experience of thier stories.

This site provides us all with an opportunity to learn from each other….. to me that is the beauty of it! We all come from such a variety of walks of life……but come together here on common ground…..to write what is in our hearts and minds. If you look for negativity you will find it…. but if you look for the positive you will find that we all have common threads and ties that bind us all in our humanity. As to the topic….take control of your own destiny. Become educated, save for the future, make sure your own house is in order before taking on the role of caretaker. Developing a support network is not a matter of finance but of attitude. Utilize your resources at hand and move forward! Medically….. only wish to live healthily…. not forever.

Watched this early this morning….but too sleepy to comment. Very interesting watching the faces morph into each other. Surprised to recognize so many. It was fun!
