Who won round 2 of the presidential debates last night?

Peg, I agree. It seems any one who is an “adversary” to John McCain is not worth even a civil notice. This does speak volumes on his character. He appears nasty, vindictive, rude, and immature. How can we have someone like that deal with world leaders he may not like? Just ignoring or turning his back to those he disagrees with or dislikes will only create worse tension in this world and in our country- we’ve seen that for the past 8 years! I was turned off last night by McCain’s disrespect toward another individual no matter who that person was- I don’t want someone that narrow minded in office anymore! We’re no longer a beacon of light domestically or internationally partly because of the “my way or highway” attitude. Enough!

Who won Thursday night's debate?

Dora, It’s not “nice to meet you”, but “nice to meet ya”— so unpolished. Would we really want someone to speak to world leaders sounding like she came from Hicksville? How do you think the “hockey mom” image will go over with the nut job in Iran? Yea, right, our country would really be on top again after discussing world affairs with her. All her responses were almost verbatim what McCain spouted at the first debate. She was well trained and clearly memorized her answers. Nothing seemed to be personal opinion or personally researched knowledge. Joe showed passion, as always, finesse, and took the debate in the serious tone it was meant- no winkin’ and smirkin’. And of course, he can pronounce nuclear correctly.

What are the biggest changes, positive or negative, your body has been through in the last ten years?

Step away from the BLOG! Thanks for the compliment- and thanks for the idea of the herbal alternative. I’ve just handled the flashes with the thought if past generations of women could bite the bullet and survive this so can I, which is why I also had all three kids through natural childbirth,no drugs. But life doesn’t have to be lived in the trenches, does it? We can add some comfort to our discomfort. Thanks, again.

What are the biggest changes, positive or negative, your body has been through in the last ten years?

Last ten years, I’m 55 now… I’ve aquired a calmer, more assured approach when dealing with people. I find myself right more often or at least better able to sound right. I’m lucky because my husband of 33 years still finds me sexually desirable- weight has not fluctated much since my 20s, even after 3 kids. Aside from some hypertension that is managable with the lowest dose of medication, my health is good- I’m lucky there. But I’ve lost a few friends along the way these past ten years to cancer and have watched some friends’ health deteriorate. My periods stopped at age 48… that was great!!! Oh, God, the hot flashes!!! I’ve dealt with them for over five years now- at night they’re the worst. I also find I stress and worry about things so much more now; things I can’t control. While raising the kids there was no time to dwell on the “what ifs”. I’m taking life more seriously, so much more aware of horrible events in the world happening to good people- “there but by the grace of God go I” and I find my heart bleeding more for others.

Photo Surfaces of John Edwards Holding His 'Love Child'

He has admitted now to the affair, but denies being the father of the child- who knows- half truths? We’ve been there before with good old Bill C., but what’s worse is once again, the people are hit with the question, “how trustworthy and honest our any politicians”? Are they all egomaniacs, so self centered, persuing the public trust with hidden agendas and hypocritical values? Yes, I feel sorry for his family having to face his trangressions and the man disgusts me.

Are you territorial when it comes to your friends?

Friendships are like a marriage, allowing for independence and individual growth only enhances the relationship. I am blessed with a variety of friends who individually tap into a different side of me. Their other personal friendships and experiences adds greater enjoyment and interest when we spend time together keeping our friendship vibrant and fun. No one should ever smother another person or place restrictions on a any type of relationship.

Do you worry about presidential hopeful John McCain's age?

It’s not his age; the man is a total snore. Too rehearsed, reading off cards… his plan is a repeat of the last eight years. I also get the impression of an underlying anger, that he blows up easily and shoots from the hip, again, like we’ve had the last eight years. Yes, he seems more intelligent than Bush, but also seems too rigid to accept constructive, productive suggestions from others unless they match his own vision and agenda. Scary that people actually consider him as a viable leader.

The wOw Cartoon of the Week: Spelling Lesson

I agree. The cover’s depiction of Senator Obama and his wife totally missed the mark of satire and demonstrated a clear ploy to negatively manipulate the public toward this candidate creating controversary for future fodder the media can play off of during the campaign. Shame on the New Yorker— their personal bias is too visible on this one.

Joan Ganz Cooney: Having It All Doesn't Make You Happy

Having it all is how you feel about yourself. It’s inner peace and happiness and the true belief of self worth. It has nothing to do with outside, materialistic value but the sense of inner value.

You'd rather be ...

Sitting in a rocking chair on a covered porch of a log cabin overlooking a lake watching the sunset. Now that’s heaven.
