It’s easy to write dirt about people who are not around to confirm or deny the rumors. A book on speculations?  Why? Doesn’t matter how Jackie, Bobby, John, John Jr.,etc.  lived their lives. The past is past.. who cares?

Neverland is going to become this century’s Graceland. The place will be revitalized, become a museum like shrine to Michael Jackson and the whole family along with investors will reap the rewards for years to come. This, I believe is what Debbie Rowe is hanging her hat on… money. Either through actual custody of the kids, thus their money, or getting a big pay off by the Jackson family to fade away again.

Her exposure needs to be handled delicately. Get her in sound booth to create some cds, but limit the face to face exposure and she’ll be fine.. a semi-reclusive life will actually enhance her popularity with a mystique not unlike Hemmingway, Beatrix Potter, etc.

SG, you are so right. Economically depressed areas see more obesity because people with little money buy "stick to the ribs" food to stretch it out further. Ground beef, pastas, breads, potatoes- cheap and easy to make in mass quantity. Also, people on government assistance for food are not educated on cooking, baking. These people purchase processed foods, no homemade cookies, etc. because they honestly don’t know how to cook or bake. Since many of these people live in "at risk" neighborhoods, the kids stay in the house for safety reasons, therefore, no exercise. The key is truly education. Don’t just hand them food stamp cards, provide suggestions/ recipes to stretch the money out in healthy ways. Boys/Girls club settings need more money to run for safe locations children can get support, exercise, homework help, and so on. There just aren’t enough donations coming in to run these centers. It’s a cycle not unlike other cycles such as child abuse, etc. It’s not like these people want to live this way or choose to be obese, it’s that they truly don’t know how to break the cycle. It’s the only way of life they’ve been a part of.

The question shouldn’t be last white men, but last OLD men. They remind me of the old order that was in place in USSR when the KGB was in it’s hayday. Younger, more progressive leaders are needed to move this country forward faster and with a clearer direction. I believe Obama is only the beginning, the transition president. He will jumpstart a new outlook for this country. He may be only a one term prez, but more visionaries like him will follow.

I agree, Jane. The key is to be as relaxed as possible. I don’t force anything, but let the guests create the fun through their own interaction, etc. I, too, want to be a part of the fun, not stuck in the kitchen prepping the meal. No stress, no fuss.

Favorite: Andy Taylor/Andy Griffith Show- calm, direct approach to raising Opie and actually raising Barney as well. Commen sense to raising children has gone by the wayside, unfortunately. They now raise the parents.

Any regrets are very minor, so I have to say "No regrets". Life is a journey, different roads, detours, adventures..some enjoyable, some not. Regrets serve as much a purpose as achievements- the lessons learned while on your journey. I have been blessed with far more achievements than regrets.

You raise your daughters to respect themselves, to think highly of themselves enough to selfishly protect their futures. I did… my daughter remembers our talks, shoved off the guys who didn’t value her enough to accept no. She is now a happily married adult who continues to value herself. A parent should NEVER have the defeatist attitude that "kids will be kids". Be a parent… demonstrate trust and encourage self esteem.  Respect for your children and they will respect themselves.

She wasn’t allowed to speak during the campaign, nor was Mom Cindy. They had to stand there like pillars in the background- don’t move, don’t breathe, just slap that vague smile on your face and applaud when you’re cued. It’s a shame, too, because since the campaign, both women have demonstrated some personality, intelligence, and spunk.
