Jessica Biel to Allure: My Looks Hold Me Back

Actress Jessica Biel alleges her good looks have damaged her career.

We should all be so damaged.

Whole Body Imaging Fuels Privacy Debate

You’ve got to be kidding. What about screaming babies… they’re annoying too. Oh, and let’s check those smelly people- spray them down before boarding. Anyone with a cold? That’s also annoying to be sneezed on- a mask for those people. The focus should remain on genuine life threatening potentials. Tolerance for the rest or don’t fly. The body scan says," I have nothing to hide…literally." I’d rather the scan than the grope.

Drew Peterson: 'There’s All Kinds of Evidence' That Proves I Didn't Kill My Wife (Video)

He used to be a cop.. knows how to hide evidence, knows what investigators look for. He IS guilty, but may get off- depends if prosecutors have any iron clad evidence. The arrogance of the guy says it all- he does believe he’s gotten away with murder..twice, three times?Almost flaunts it, knowing no one will ever know the truth.

Have you ever done something you feared would come back to haunt you? Did it?

"The decisions you make today will determine your tomorrow". A motto I live by to hopefully avoid being butt bitten. A times, I’ve been lucky I didn’t have any nip marks.

Reality television is clearly here to stay, so tell us: On what show or in what type of competition would you kick butt?

I detest reality shows and I do not believe they are here to stay. At some point their ridiculous themes will exhaust themselves. I do not watch any of them.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Calls Joe the Plumber 'Ignoramus' for 'Queer' Comment (Video)

It amazes me the posters here who touted "Joe the Plumber" during the campaign as such a great guy, and now see what we "Demos" saw from day one. Hypocrites!

Archbishop Takes on Obama and His 'Culture of Death'

He, President Obama, has ruined nothing. Nor will he. He will either be otherwise engaged or will give the commencement speech with grace and focus on the graduates’ futures. The "ruined" day will happen to those who want it ruined.

Madeleine McCann Abduction Suspect Image Released

Such a tragic story and so avoidable. Had the parents not left their children ALONE ( room service anyone?) this may not have happened. How can parents be so naive when it comes to the safety of their children? I see it all the time in malls, parks, airports, etc. Even in restaurants, I’ve seen parents send their young children to restrooms by themselves. I’m amazed at the lack for foresight.

Kate Gosselin on 'Today Show' Defends Jon (Video)

Once again, it’s a shame public figures have to make EVERY aspect of their life public knowledge. She shouldn’t have to defend her husband or the "situation" adding more humility to the whole debacle. The reality show is about raising 8 kids.. not raising a husband.

'Child of Alzheimer's' Maria Shriver Talks About 'Alzheimer's Project'

I too am a child and a grandchild of Alzheimer’s. Two generations, so my odds are not good of staying clear of this evil disease. I hope with research a preventive plan/medication can be found that is successful. I’ve maybe got 10-15 years before the signs may be evident. Let’s get crackin’ scientists/doctors!

When a scare like the swine flu takes hold, do you take precautionary measures to the extreme in order to protect your health?

I’m a teacher.. what precautions? I get sneezed and coughed on all day. I think I could get exposed to the Bubonic plague by now and be immune! Aside from washing my hands and frequent squirts of Purell I’m not too concerned.

Elizabeth Edwards Tells Oprah: 'I Have No Idea' if Rielle Hunter's Baby is My Husband's

I’m concerned that she is even airing more dirty laundry- IT’S NONE OF OUR BUSINESS, ELIZABETH! She is just adding insult to injury for her children and family. This should be handled in private. My respect for her has now dropped since she seems to be putting her ego ahead of her children’s feelings. They can’t possibly enjoy their parents’ personal lives open to the national public like this.

14 Years After Death, President Obama's Mother Gets Published

Her work was obviously inline with President Kennedy’s encouragement for young people to get involved in world affairs, for example the peace corps. It’s sad and pathetic that some people on this site have no shame to even denegrate a deceased woman’s efforts to make a difference in her lifetime. She deserves this recognition. At no time did I get the impression during her son’s campaign that he ignored her race. She was his mother not a color.

Have you benefited from this recession in any way?

I understand what you mean, Diana, although most people are thinking benefits in monetary terms, you’re meaning philosophical benefit. I agree with you. We have had to face our greed, face our gluttony, and our egos (wants vs. needs). A hard thing to do for most. Yes, this too shall pass, and many will not be the same monetarily, but hopefully we’ve all learned an important lesson about priorities in life. Many of us need to count our blessings no matter how basic they are. Blessing numer one… you’re breathing. Take it from there.

Have you ever cared for an aging or Alzheimer's-stricken person? What advice would you give someone faced with this challenge?

Yes, I cared for my mom for 7 years after diagnosis. She had been living with us since my dad’s death for 5 years before that. The real hit of reality with the diagnosis was while visitng her geriatrician, he had her draw an analog clock ( face clock). She couldn’t do it- prior to that we just kept making adjustments in our living situation without really facing the issue. Mom looked at me at that point and said, "when you get to the point where you’re losing your quality of life, you have permission to place me in a facility. I want you to." Eight years later, conditions got to that point, and it was the hardest thing to do, but afterward it became a blessing. I began to enjoy Mom again because I visited her everyday and didn’t have to deal with the other issues that really take it’s toll physcially and emotionally. It’s been 5 more years since she’s been in a wonderful facility..very end stages now, but I still go almost daily knowing she can still sense my touch, my love. Advice for someone would be do not see a nursing facility as a bad thing. The person with Alzheimer’s would not want you to lose your quality of life caring for them. Seek out a good facility ( family owned are better than corporate owned— not just a job with employees but genuine commitment), check with medicare.gov site for quality, and although hard at first, you will have no regrets or guilt if your loved one is well cared for.
