Dog still wakes me at the usual 5:45am, but then after feeding her I go back to bed for an hour. The rest of the day, I breathe! During the week I teach children with special needs, so by the weekend I’m drained. I have to gain some inner peace over the weekend to regain strength.

Yes we heard about the child/teenager in Colorado holding a sign with a monkey on it along with a snide comment with a clear racial inuendo. Nice- and will this kid be joining KKK next? Another lovely group represented at these rallies, I’m sure.

It’s the makeover that  could ruin her genuine persona. She has the potential to realize the dream of many so called "plain" people. Such an inspirational role model that beauty comes from within. I hope she doesn’t lose herself in the hype of what others think is a better look.

 

Hey, taxes are taxes. It’s a way of life. We paid our share this year and although high, I’m not going to lose any sleep over it. It is what it is. People have the right to protest whatever they want, but the bottom line is- they had to file yesterday! That’s reality. Could be worse, folks. You could be living in Somalia or Afghanistan. People have protested taxes for decades.. take the hit and move on. 

She’s still 50 and someday she will be 70, then 80. The platinum hair for both has GOT to go! However, if you live life to the fullest and keep healthy.. your "youth" will shine through. You don’t need to buy it artificially. This is a classic case of a person’s  ego getting in the way of common sense.

I hope no one including Simon Cowell tries to change her too much. It would be a shame if she got lost in the fame and hype of all this and lost that inner beauty. It’s her natural charm that is endearing and will set the greatest example for others along with her God given talent.

The early 70’s - college. "I am Woman Hear me Roar" Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs tennis match, the start of the Gay Caucus on campuses, protesting the VERY long Vietnam War. The pace of progress and change began to speed up during the early 70’s. My awareness of these changes helped me see a broader potential in myself and in our country. I became a democrat, less conservative, and embraced change rather than feared it. Now in my 50’s, each time I catch myself wanting to hold onto the "safe, sameness", I think back to those years to help me focus on continued change, continued improvement of myself.

We had it all prepared, knew we owed (no more deducts) so filed yesterday. Life marches on.
