Marlo Thomas Recalls Her Favorite Scenes From 'I Love Lucy' and Carol Burnett's 'Gone With the Wind'

Mar, I think we’re streaming now at http://radiotime.com/station/s_27348/WJRW_1340.aspx . I’ve been doing a little late-afternoon news on the new channel, and a ton of newswriting.

Patty, I’ve been exhausted with the launch of the new radio station. You can listen to it (and perhaps me late afternoon at times?) live via this stream: http://radiotime.com/station/s_27348/WJRW_1340.aspx  . Will yack more with you in a while, when I have a moment. Take care!

thanks, Phyll! Glad you wrote all that for me.

None of the above, although my lungs can be affected by air pollution.

Snooks, those words are very wise and true. I think the quality of radio has to be ramped up, as well. The mega-corporations that bought large radio chains have made it homenized and humdrum the past several years. I’m so glad that Citadel Corp. has the vision to head in a new, "old" direction with the start-up of 1340 WJRW-AM in Grand Rapids. I’m not supposed to speak publicly about station details, for obvious reasons, but I will say that launching a news/talker with real news people and content that isn’t 99% syndicated is a breath of fresh air. And I think the call letters are a stroke of genius, not "geeky" as one geek wrote in a cowardly blog, where this post will probably be copied-and-pasted by a get-a-lifer. Cheers.

By the way, it’s interesting that you use a famous radio voice as your handle on wOw. Old-time radio is one of my great passions in life.

You’re very sweet, Snooks. Brandon Inge just wacked a walk-off homerun for the Tigers in the bottom of the ninth, and Detroit won, 1-0.

Yeah, I’m a strange one in that I really believe in values like trust, loyalty, fair play. Just like those who participated in the original Woodstock, I might be a dreamer, a bit idealistic, but I can’t help it: I think we should strive for things like peace and love.

thanks, Snook. have a good weekend

Surviving Sudden Cardiac Arrest, by Dr. Holly Andersen

C Jay, I’m glad you’re still among us! Good luck with the campaign.

Should Cash for Clunkers be given for foreign cars? Why or why not?

Yes. The American automakers will benefit from that, too.

How many nights each week do you currently cook at home?

Ain’t that the truth, Diana? Michigan tomatoes are heavenly, too. Mom used to grow them in the garden. The homegrown tomatoes are great. I like a dash of salt on them.
