Whoopi Goldberg: Sarah Palin 'Is a Very Dangerous Woman'

The campaign is about marketing ! Since the campaigns have been televised people judge the candidates by the way they come across on the tube. Sarah delivered a speech with the help of professional speech writers. Sarah was chosen because the vast majority of people vote for who they “like” not who might be the most qualified. It’s like voting for American Idol, people are voting for personalities. Sarah will appeal to a lot of people because of how she looks, she is a woman and a mom that a lot of people can relate to. The election will come down to the popular vote versus the electoral votes.

Governor Sarah Palin, 44, Named McCain's Running Mate

What a rough group this is ! Why so mean spirited ? You don’t have to vote for her.

Happy Birthday John McCain! What birthday wishes do you have for the presidential hopeful?

Happy Birthday Senator McCain ! May you enjoy many more !Thank you for your service to our country ! We can’t afford four more years of the same policies !

Whoopi Goldberg on Barack Obama's Nomination

Whoppi, it’s all about the critique! Doesn’t matter if it is news people Dancing With The Stars or American Idol everybody has to criticize ! I don’t know how good a job Obama will do, I don’t know if he has enough experience or if it matters. I keep thinking (hopefully) it can’t be any worse than the last 8 years ! Obama will make history tonight on the anniversary of MLK speech, Hillary could have made history on the anniversary of women being granted the right to vote, maybe someday we will have a woman for president. It will be interesting to see what the future brings !

Where do you get your health insurance?

Military families have health care (Tricare) that is probably like what ” universal health care” would be. I would think everyone could sign up for health care and make the choice to use it or not use it. My husband is retired from the military and now has a job as a civilian, which provides health insurance. Our private insurance pays first and Tricare only pays a portion of what our private insurance doesn’t pay. If we didn’t have other insurance, Tricare would be the primary insurance. Tricare isn’t free but costs less than most private health insurance. You go to a military or military approved facility, if you can not be treated there you must have a referral to an approved physician. It is not ideal but it is better than no coverage at all.

All Eyes on Hillary Clinton ... UPDATED 10:00 AM: wowOwow what a night!

It is a mystery to me why Obama didn’t choose Hillary for VP, I wonder if he is threatened by her power. I am hopeful Obama is able to solve all our problems. I keep hearing that the DEMS want change and where they want to make changes but I’m not hearing PLANS to make those changes. How will they do it all ?

It's Women's Equality Day: How far have we come?

It’s up to mothers and grandmothers to explain to our sons, daughters and grandchildren what equality is. I don’t think a lot of women understood/understand the women’s movement, I’m not sure I understood it at the time. There are people (not WOW women) that thought it was about bra burning and women hating men. I don’t think a lot of young women (and men) are really aware what it is about and why it is important. I work for a young (educated) man that doesn’t understand why I’m a woman not a girl. I have explained to him that if two men worked for him, he would not say, give the papers to the boys or leave a message with one of my boys.He would call them men or he would call them by name. While he agrees that he would never say that he doesn’t have a clue why it is important.

Caroline Kennedy Does a Star Turn at the DNC

Caroline did a wonderful job! Wish her dad, mother and brother could have seen her last night.

Michelle Obama a Hit at Democratic Convention

Michelle Obama’s speech was very good and she did a wonderful job of delivering it. Her family must have been very proud ! I couldn’t help thinking that her life will change in a profound way if her husband is elected. John & Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King would have loved to have been there.

Michelle Obama a Hit at Democratic Convention

Kitty, my thoughts exactly ! LOL

It's Women's Equality Day: How far have we come?

We have come a long way ! It is troubling to me that the ” MTV generation ” doesn’t seem to understand anything about equality. There are groups of young women that think being an exotic dancer is glamourous, posing nude is an “honor”. They don’t understand explotation. Young girls and women need real role models, not Paris and Brittany. Very young girls are being targeted by clothing manufactures to dress in sexy and provocative fashions. Malls are giving make overs to little girls with their mom’s permission. We need to educate our young girls about equality and self respect.

HerTube: Shaken, Not Stirred

Happy Birthday Sean ! You are a wonderful actor, the best and only James Bond in my book ! I hope your attitude about abusing women has changed.

What is your favorite time of day?

By nature I’m a night owl, however society has made me a day person ! It’s that work thing ! I love the cool air in the mornings, the stillness before everyone wakes up and starts stirring around. I like the warmth of the afternoon sun, the blue sky, watching the birds and relaxing on the patio, the calmness of the evening, walking in our neighborhood watching the sunset begin before the stars start to twinkle.

Cher To Hillary: We Want You, Babe!

I learned from reading WOW that a lot of people (both men and women) don’t care for HRC and wouldn’t vote for her. I don’t know her and don’t agree with everything she says or does but given the choices, I would have thought more women would have been willing to give her a chance. She does have experience, she is a smart women and she has worked hard to get to where she is. The more women we have in positions of power the better the chance for other women to be appointed to other positions. This is just my opinion. We have to do better than what we have had in the last eight years ! With the delegate votes and caucuses which I don’t begin to understand, the popular vote may not make any difference at all.

Cher To Hillary: We Want You, Babe!

Sorry to say this but I think it was women ( and the media) that prevented Hilllary from being nominated. Women need to back a women in order to ever get one elected! I have always liked Cher,I have never thought of her as an expert on politics but her guess is as good as any. Obama is announcing his choice tomorrow, don’t think it will be HRC.
