New York Governor: 'I Do' Want Out-of-State Gay Marriages to Be Recognized

I would like to take my place on that line beside you and the others who have posted on this thread. And I do think times are changing as are minds and at a faster rate. Hang onto the future promise of that. I cringe at what you shared you’ve gone through. Leaves me incredibly sad. And yes, you are a champion- strong and courageous.

Monica Crowley to Scott McClellan: 'Not Cool' to Kiss 'n' Tell With Bush Still in Office

You sir, have a point about McClellan and the fact his Jiminy Cricket seems to have been on sabbatical. :) I too, respect Colin Powell and feel he was used. I would so love it if he’d step forward and speak his truths. No matter what the timing.

Liza: “This man McClellan wrote a book … he will make money off the book and do you know why? SUPPLY AND DEMAND” That is an excellent point…most cool.

Mugsy, that is too funny. You have a wonderful way of adding humor to the tough subjects. I agree with your take on the timing, too.

I will plead the 5th but will disclose that I’m smiling. :)

I am speculating that with fuel costs such as they are today, those high octane women must be getting a tad expensive right now…I will refrain from an Eliot Spitzer joke here.

Is Congress Forcing CEOs to 'Fire U.S. Workers As Fast As They Can?'

I felt my shoulders rounding and a lot of sighing when I read this. This subject is one I have a hard time staying positive and hopeful about. I have to go Charlie Brown on this one…”ugh.”

What concerns you more?

Yikes, Lynn! Is this a plot for a sci-fi flick or are you really behind this idea? I’m with you on the idea of mandatory parenting classes but the rest…whoo-eee! At first glance it comes to mind that $100,000 in savings (or the potential to save that and pay the costs to live) might discriminate against certain socioeconomic classes from procreating. ut-oh…that sounds like a very slippery slope. I’m sure you were just kidding. A little joke for Frank….! ?????

Hello Dr Klein! And thank you for another unjaded installment of unabated optimism.

Dina Matos McGreevey is asking for alimony of $51k a month for 13 months from ex-NJ governor Jim McGreevey. Does she deserve it?

I learned long ago that there is a danger in questions like these. Until one walks in another woman’s footwear, you just can’t know the ins and outs of why she does what she does or what she’s been through to warrant an action. I think this is especially true when a marriage dissolves. So much can and usually is different than it appears. No one can know the truth of what goes on under someone else’s roof. From the outside things can look so outrageous but with a true understanding of what has transpired your view could change in an instant. That’s what I’ve discovered when I’ve been privileged to be taken into confidence with people who have revealed the real picture of their lives. Like a kaleidescope, a tiny turn can change the whole image that you thought you saw.

Liz Smith: Gays Don't Have the Same Rights as People on Death Row

And no one need convince you, Bean, as your beliefs are your own and you are entitled to them. Can you subscribe however, to a “live and let live” philosophy? What about that would not sit well with you? So as you wish to be acknowledged in your belief that “marriage is for children,” can you respectfully allow others to see that (or anything else for that matter) differently than you and let it still be ok.? Unless someone is imposing their belief system on you in an invasive way, having gay sex on your front lawn for example, is it not possible to simply disagree and walk on by? What we resist persists. Accept it, choose your own path, and give others the right to do the same. Where is the harm in that?
