Oooh, Sheila Nevins, now, I call your tuning into the women’s conversation a reflection of your deep-seated compassion for the human condition, your empathy-that’s a hot word currently- for the foibles and follies of women.  Now, my daughter has a different view:  intrusive and impolite.  And she says it like it’s a bad thing. Go figure.

I knew one of the ladies (that’s no lady, that’s Chuck’s lover) would go behind the other’s back but  not so quickly or truly tackily.  In my personal life, I’ve learned who are the gossipers and the takers.  Unfortunately, experience was the teacher;  loss of relationships, loss of money and a dent in my idealism the cost.  I’m 62 but stll discovering the ‘mean girls’.  To paraphrase Kathy Baker in ‘Fried Green Tomatoes,’ now they are older and they have more money, but still have the middle school mentality.  Perhaps I’m still mentally in middle school, but I’m tap dancing and listening to Broadway tunes.

Brava on ‘Autism the Musical’, Sheila Nevins.  Now, I want to see the doc. concerning teen suicide.  How courageous to share such vulnerable, raw emotions.  Could you remind me when it’s on?  Post me here and I’ll tell the others.  Thanks, Sheila Nevins.

No, you owe no apology, but , as you point out, America’s evolution in correcting problems takes time.  Canuck, we all experience anxiety about policies and politics…we are all affected by the economy.  Seemingly, a great many republicans support Sonia Sotomayor and I believe the solution to our economics will also have to be bipartisan.

No bias in the Supreme Court, and yet you can identify five conservative judges.  Are you identifying these five by their personal views, what preesident appointed them or their actual rulings? Sotomayor, ‘a complete racist antiwhite male feminist,’is as you say your opinion.

‘Let’s take this as a hard lesson my fellow white brothers..’ This doesn’t sound klannish to you? Hans you seem to assume that Sotomayor follows your line of thinking.  That often happens, we think that another is evil thinking because we know we are evil thinking.  Doesn’t always work that way…thankfully.

Well then, Hans she would have been back to her original statement, which she has acknowledge could have been worded better.  If you do not believe that Scalia’s Catholicism, his family of nine children, his personal obstacles to rise to the Supreme Court do not inform his interpretation of the law, you must consider him a robot. I do believe that Scalia,as well as other Justices, contempate and attempt to remove emotion from their final rulings.  By the way, Clarence Thomas has not asked one question while sitting on the panel.  One could question his level of engagement.

Agree also, F P.  Yeah, I much preferred Diana Ross and the Supremes.  If I were from South Carolina, I would be looking for a new governor and a new senator.

Well, my computer seems to have intermittent spurts of it-realization.  I, too, wish Whitney Houston well.  Her passionate performance of Dolly Parton’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ is right up there with Jennifer Hudson’s ‘And I Am Telling You’…both soulfully stellar.

This month’s issue of ‘Esquire’ contains a revealing interview with Jeb Bush.  Asked who are strong candidates to rise to leadership in his party, Bush did not mention Palin or Romney.  Jeb Bush certainly presents himself well.

Van Gogh, known to middle schoolers as,’That guy who chopped off his ear…actually sometimes, ‘nose’, ‘toes’  ‘arms’, is one of the first artists young students learn to identify.  I often hinted to them, ‘the guy who had an earie experience.’ ( Isn’t that awful? couldn’t resist.) My family was fortnate enough to visit the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, and then the bridge at Arles, France, the subject of one of his most famous paintings.  By the way, small children are not alwas as appreciative of these adventures,as in, ‘Did they use the picture to build the bridge?’.  Ah , yet another teaching moment.

‘The tintinabulation of the bells upon the hill’….just so much more pleasant than tinnitus.

‘Some one needs a quarter to buy a sense of humor.’  Never crossed my mind that you were alone, Kelly. You go ahead and tell yourself that I’m not buying into your scare tactics. If you have knowledge of illegal residents, you need to report them to the authorities.  Being a patriotic American requires it…evidently.

Kelly, we are all Americans.  Your constant attempts to segregate the population into some arbitrary, and by that I mean destructive, configurations of levels of patriotism serves no useful purpose, false dichotomies won’t work here. I am sincerely grateful that you are here, Kelly.  Your perspective is eye-opening…and jaw-dropping.  Best we keep you corralled here so you’re not out there endangering the species.  See you tomorrow.
