Yes, Liz Smith, we all have special memories from Forrest Park…and Forrest Park remains well-maintained, oft visited. The trees have become only more majestic, and the families sitting under them reflect a more diverse Fort Worth. 

My friends and I ran all around Forrest Park and then attacked the Botanical Gardens in some misguided attempt to catch butterflies for biology class.  Thankfully, none of us succeeded and spent a good deal of the time chasing one another with the nets, which was all terribly funny then and a darn good memory now.

Absolutes just have no place in meaningful debate.  I still say she was condescending to Hillary Clinton.  I would appreciate very much your not using ‘Pleeze…’.  That, too, I find condescending.  I believe I acknowledged your point of provocation. Right now I am watching ‘Autism the Musical’…not avoiding cap and trade, energy policy.  Sometimes I’m reminded we live in such a diverse society.

Hmmmmmm, Republican president, Republican congress..coincidence, I don’t think so.    Why would the State of Florida investigate when his crime was in the District of Columbia?  You defend this creep who used the’I think I have to go to rehab defense’ and without any kind of logical connection, allude to Barney Frank. I referred to Mark Foley because Deber’s hypothetical situation using Clinton referred to pages in congress. I’m not sure what your point is.

I reread Margo’s words, and what jumped out to me was her condescending attitude to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.  I thiink I know what jumped out at you, but, sincerely, I did not see former President Clinton mentioned.  There is a post from a South Carolina resident who quite eloquently states the issue here and the response of someone who is more directly affected by Sanford’s actions.  Her name is Dana; I think it’s on page 7 or 8.  Just an excellent post.

I agree with you there, deber B.  What was Mark Foley’s punishment exactly?  I don’t recall his being questioned by anyone outside his party.  Now he’s down in Florida, and I sincerely would like to know if he is registered as a sex offender.  As I recall, he was allowed to walk away without a public trial.  I could be wrong.

deber B, do you sincerely believe that ‘Look what Clinton did’ should be an adequate excuse for all wavering, wandering politicians in the future?  Will ‘Clinton’become an adequate defense in court cases?  What he did was wrong.  Elected officials followed the rule of law to impeach him, but they were unsuccessful. Really, I do not see what Clinton has to do with Sanford.  You fault those who refer back to George Bush, but every discussion makes Clinton fair game for you.  Now that doesn’t seem fair.

Oh, my, deber B, Sanford was in deed caught in a lie of huge proportions.  He left his state, his constituents with no elected official holding the authoriy to make decisions for the people.  His wife did not know where he was should anything happen to his sons.  While on a commerce trip to Brazil, he requested that his areas of interest had suddenly expanded to Argentina; thus, using his constituents’ money.  Yes, Governor Sanford was otherwisw engaged.  Well, at least dating.

 Clinton’s behaviour with Lewinsky, to me, is disgusting.  Hillary earned her opportunity to seek her own place in American leadership. Jenny Sanford can afford to be stronly independent; she’s the one with the money. Cinton paid for his lie; he was almost impeached, but our elected officials followed a different course.  I do not second guess them.  Nor did I applaud Craig, Foley, Ensign, Vitter, Edwards, Spitzer  when they were ‘caught’, all revealing violations of their own moral codes, but some darked their character even more with a big pile of hypocracy.

Please understand this conversation is all about these people, not you and me.

KDW, are you saying McCain and Palin were having an affair?  Just kidding.  When I read your post ‘we all know that Palin was picked simply for her sex,’ unfortunately, that’s where my mind went.  I understand your statement.
