My Comments (104 so far…)

What are you doing for Memorial Day weekend?

I’ll probably work and study for my exams… But I’m not missing anything, since we don’t celebrate Memorial Day weekend…

What do you hear outside the windows of your home at night?

In the spring/summer, I can hear lots of birds. And they’re making quite a noise!

Rest of the year, it’s very silent outside my windows.

What is the most important lesson in leadership you have ever learned? What were the circumstances?

I must say I’ve really developed my leadership skills at work the last coupple of years. I work with a lot of young people, and there are always new people being employed, and so there is a lot of people who’s both uncertain of themselves and of their job. And in a lot of situations, they want someone to tell them what they can and can not do. Especially if something goes wrong, then no one wants to make a decision in case it might be a wrong one.

In situations like that, I’ve learned that when you take charge like it’s the most natural thing in the world, and make your decisions with certainty, people listen. If you’re taking the responsibility as a natural thing, most people will see it as natural that you’re in charge, and that you know what you’re doing… Of course you have to know your job and make decisions you can stand by, or else it’s just bad leadership!

But the most important thing I’ve ever learned about leadership is: What ever the problem is, if no one steps up and take charge, things can only get worse!

Have you ever been involved in a natural disaster? Are there any natural disasters you truly fear?

Back home where I grew up, we’re surrounded by huge mountains. And when the weather is good, they’re the most beautiful thing ever seen, but when it’s raining or snowing, you risk a rain of stone from above…

So the closest thing to a natural disaster I’ve ever seen, was when the rain brought down huge masses of stone and stoneblocks, and crushed the road completely. Everyone had to travel by boat for mounths later. But luckily no one got hurt, and we’re now finally getting a tunnel!

If there’s any natural disaster I really fear, it would be fires. I find anything burning out of control a dangerous disaster!

The Duggars, Nadya Suleman … When parents have so many children at once, should they be allowed to profit from it?

I just hope they’re not giving birth to a lot of children just to profit from it… That would be sick!

Candice Bergen on 'Murphy Brown': 'I Was Exhausted But Very Happy'

Agreed! Loved the Murphy years! And I really don’t see why they won’t release all the seasons on DVD!

If someone gave you $40,000 to buy an automobile, would you buy one made in America?

Except for the Ford, you don’t find many American cars in Norway. I guess it has something to do with the automatic gear, I’ve heard that’s more common in the US, and not very common here. If I was given a lot of money to buy a car, I’d probably choose a german one ….

In the discussion on health care, everyone laments they can no longer have a great relationship with their doctor. Do you?

I have no kind of relationship with my doctor…. I move a lot, and so I can’t really see the same doctors, and other than in mortal danger, I don’t see doctors… I’m absolutely hating and dreading it, and very much avoiding it….

Liz Smith Doesn't Consider the Inaugural Music a Real Problem

I so agree! Taped or not taped… I do not care…

New research shows that entrepreneurial behavior is genetically determined. What do you think? Is it nature or nurture?

Nature or nurture… I would say it’s a bit of both, you have to have some of the right genes, and you have to be thought how to “use” them. But recently I’ve seen a lot of characteristic that I’ve always thought to be nurture, and realized it’s really nature… So I think entrepreneurial behavior is mostly genetically determined.

What habit most disgusts you?

I really can’t stand the spitting! And call me old fashion: but I find girls spitting even more disgusting than when boys spit…

What's your motivation for watching the Super Bowl?

Really, I had to answer :Super Bowl? What’s that? I hear the name often enough, and I know it’s some kind of sport, American football isn’t it ??? What to say, we haven’t got super Bowl…. I’m not much of a sports person anyway, mostly watching the winter sports, like skiing! (can’t help but loving the part where we’re winning)!!

Meryl and Me, by Cynthia McFadden

Meryl’s absolutely adorable! Lovable, intelligent, talented, down to earth… Loved to read this!

Candice Bergen's Warning for Barack Obama

I love Labradoodles! Too bad they’re not a better known specie, but maybe that will change if the obamas get one! :) Still: I’ll always say the most misunderstood specie of all dogs is the big poodle! Misjudged because of that silly haircut….
