Whoopi Goldberg on 'The View': 'Somebody's Got to Put the Fire Out'

Dear Frank - it was clear to me you were not gay - just a mysogonist and in my experience that is not how I would define gay men. I am not surprised you voted yes on Prop 8 - you clearly have a problem with human rights extending to all. I am always very wary of men who won’t let women have their own things and their own voices - this site is Women on the Web - a place where we can express ourselves. If you have difficulties with the views expressed by the women of The View - that’s legitimate. But to attack them for their age and/or looks is childish and unnecessary. I have found through my 50+ years on the planet, those who attack the meanest in relation to someone’s appearance, characteristics, gender, ethnicity and sexual preferences usually have very low self esteem - hence the need to assert single women in your community are attracted to you - perhaps there is a male shortage? Joy Behar is a very enteraining woman who is not afraid to say it how she sees the world and Barbara Walters, regardless of your assessment of her performance on the View is a hugely successful trailblazer who has broken barriers for others to follow - she commands respect for that alone. Perhaps Frank you could give the airspace on this site and respect the women who want to communicate with other women?

Sarah Palin for President in 2012?

Dear Frannie regarding Biden’s comments - I watched The View the day they showed the whole of the interview and what Biden actually said. If some parts of the media and the Republicans were more honest and not cut and paste to serve their agenda, there would be no questions as what Biden said. If a political party in Australia cut and paste the way the Republicans do here in the US, the ads pulled and appropriate reports in the media would expose their dishonesty.

Michelle Obama Tells Lesley Stahl: Some Won't Vote for Barack No Matter What

I agree entirely - if he behaved the way he does on Australian television he would be sacked in a blink of an eye - even with Murdoch shareholdings. Am I ever grateful Rupert prefers to be an American citizen and denounced his Australian citizenship - I do however apologies for the appalling stuff he dishes up to the American public. We get Fox on cable tv in Australia so we get to see the most amazingly rude, obnoxious, bullying and irrational lying media talking heads inflicted on Americans - they are certainly unable to be called journalists. It is time the US media employees go to back to university and learn what journalism truly means.

Whoopi Goldberg: 'John McCain Now Is a Republican Talking Head'

Rush L it wasn’t and isn’t Canada’s war, just like it was and isn’t Australia’s war notwithstanding our then government followed yours blindly into it. Goodness is not measured by willingness or otherwise to fight someone else’s war.

Whoopi Weighs in on Sarah Palin and Reader Comments on Her Obama Post!

I am not a US citizen but a citizen of the world who spends a lot of time in the US by choice. I am truly hopeful I can be in the US on election day. I get very concerned that US citizens do not consider or think about the impact of US government policy (domestic and foreign) on the remainder of the world - for example the sub prime issue has had enormous effect on the Australian economy and Iraq - well, what can I say? I have watched US politics, mainly through CNN and Fox and mainstream print media, intensely this year. I find it extremely difficult to come to grips with a concept that Democrat women and those that supported Hillary Rodham Clinton would even consider voting for Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin when they have positions on critical issues such as prevention of teenage and unwanted pregnancy and Roe v Wade. On The View, the incredibly politically savvy Joy Behar pointed out, in answer to an uneducated proposition put by Sherri Shepherd that the retirement of 3 judges from the Supreme Court in the next 4 yours will provide the President the opportunity to appoint judges which, if McCain/Palin are elected WILL be conservative and not pro-choice. That must be a major alarm for pro-choice supporters. Whoopi’s comments regarding choice today on The View (we are a day late in Australia) were so true. I hope Emily’s List is working overtime in the next 2 + months. I also believe McCain choosing Palin as his running mate is the most cynical political act I have witnessed in 30+ years of political observation and participation. It is also incredibly disrespectful to women. Just remember sisters, sisterhood is global and what you do politically impacts on your sisters around the globe. Noeline - Sydney Australia
