My dear Ms Lily, Please don’t be too hard on yourself about the comments you have made in the past. You made these comments with no malice of forethought. Your intention was to be kind. Now, so far as your own perormance, I think each artist is his or her own harshest critic. So, try to find the balance in your performance—and this means to let yourself acknowledge both the positive and the negative. Now, one suggestion for the future with fellow performers is to be on the lookout for something—no matter how small—that you can honestly be positive about. You don’t have to give an evaluation of the whole show. So, look for wonderful costumes, or a special scene, or interesting lighting or staging, or a particular place the person did well and tell them about that! They will hear your compliment and your sincerity and not question it. Even though I am not a dog purrson, I can appreciate pretty fur, nice manners, neat eating habits or loyalty. So it is possible to find some good in almost everthing. I’m telling you, again, my people really loved your performances, in person, on TV and in movies. So just remember how many loyal fans you have, myself inluded. Love, Dice
